Matthew
16:1-4 The Pharisees also with the Sadducees came, and tempting
desired him that he would shew them a sign from heaven. He answered
and said unto them, When it is evening, ye say, It will be fair weather:
for the sky is red. And in the morning, It will be foul weather to day:
for the sky is red and lowering. O ye hypocrites, ye can discern the
face of the sky; but can ye not discern the signs of the times?
A wicked and adulterous generation seeketh after
a sign;[G4592] and there shall no sign
be given unto it, but the sign of the prophet Jonas. And he left
them, and departed.
Sign (G4592)
sēmeion (say-mi’-on) Neuter of a presumed
derivative of the base of G4591; an
indication, especially ceremonially or supernaturally:
- miracle, sign, token,
wonder.
In Christ time on the earth, the doubtful desired a sign for proof. However,
it was in the very Word of God through the prophecy of Daniel regarding
the
70 weeks determined for Israel and Jerusalem that the signs were given
them. God’s Word was the sign given them and testified of Christ precept
upon precept, line upon line, here a little and there a little. Isaiah 28:9-13
I find it interesting that God used His Word and the way it was written
to blind those who were looking for a conquering king to reject the humble
servant that came before them. I think this is a lesson for us to learn
from in the end-times.
Israel was blinded because they didn’t recognize God’s timing
written in His Word as prophecy.
How much more should we at the end, with all the fulfilled prophecy leading
to this point and the events going on in the world, be able to see God’s
design written in His Word with the same precision laid out in the 70 Weeks
prophecy? Daniel was told that understanding of what was written is sealed
for the end and until May 14, 1948 Bible prophecy was more or less sealed
to our understanding. But knowledge is increasing and I believe we have
it very well laid out for us,
verified in history, written in God’s Word and clearly seen
coming
to pass in the news. Understanding where we are in the end-times scenario
does not require modern-day prophets with special revelation, but only one
who loves God and can read the Word of God written thousands of years ago
foretelling the end-time events for them that love God. We just need His
guidance through His Word and interpretation of His Word by His Word. It’s
all there.
The reason I broach this topic is because Yeshua warned of
deception in the last days, of people coming in His name that were not of
Him. I’ve also been seeing a strong desire to experience the supernatural.
With the focus on Yeshua, I believe that is good. However, God is not the
only spirit out there who can produce signs that amaze human beings. And
so we must test all things according to God’s Word and hold to that
which is good.
1 John 4:1-11 Beloved, believe
not every spirit, but try the spirits whether they are of God: because
many false prophets are gone out into the world. Hereby
know ye the Spirit of God: Every spirit that
confesseth that Jesus Christ is come in the flesh is of God:
And every spirit that confesseth not that Jesus
Christ is come in the flesh is not of God: and this
is that spirit of antichrist, whereof ye have heard that it should come;
and even now already is it in the world. Ye are of God, little children,
and have overcome them: because greater is he that is in you, than he
that is in the world. They are of the world: therefore speak they of
the world, and the world heareth them. We are of God: he that knoweth
God heareth us; he that is not of God heareth not us. Hereby
know we the spirit of truth, and the spirit of error. Beloved,
let us love one another: for love is of God; and every one that loveth
is born of God, and knoweth God. He that loveth not knoweth not God;
for God is love. In this was manifested the love of God toward us, because
that God sent his only begotten Son into the world, that we might live
through him. Herein is love, not that we loved God, but that he loved
us, and sent his Son to be the propitiation for our sins. Beloved, if
God so loved us, we ought also to love one another.
2 Timothy 4:1-4 … I give you this
charge: Preach the Word; be prepared in season and out of season; correct,
rebuke and encourage--with great patience and careful instruction. For
the time will come when men will not put up
with sound doctrine. Instead, to suit their own desires,
they will gather around them a great number
of teachers to say what their itching ears want to hear. They
will turn their ears away from the truth and turn aside to myths.
2 Corinthians 11:1-4; 13-15
Would to God ye could bear with me a little in my folly: and indeed
bear with me. For I am jealous over you with godly jealousy: for I have
espoused you to one husband, that I may present you as a chaste virgin
to Christ. But I fear, lest by any means, as
the serpent beguiled Eve through his subtilty, so your minds should
be corrupted from the simplicity that is in Christ. For if he
that cometh preacheth another Jesus, whom we have not preached, or if
ye receive another spirit, which ye have not received, or another gospel,
which ye have not accepted, ye might well bear with him. For such
are false apostles, deceitful workers, transforming themselves into
the apostles of Christ. And no marvel; for Satan himself is transformed
into an angel of light. Therefore it is no great thing if his ministers
also be transformed as the ministers of righteousness; whose end shall
be according to their works.
The Yeshua preached is in the Word of God and that should be our foundation,
not just experiences. There is an ultimate incarnation of the deception
of the end, and God allows the deception, adding a strong delusion that
they would believe a lie.
2 Thessalonians 2:1-12 Now we
beseech you, brethren, by the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ, and by
our gathering together unto him, That ye be not soon shaken in mind,
or be troubled, neither by spirit, nor by word, nor by letter as from
us, as that the day of Christ is at hand. Let no man deceive you by
any means: for that day shall not come, except there come a
falling away first[apostasy],
and that man of sin be revealed, the son of perdition; Who opposeth
and exalteth himself above all that is called God, or that is worshipped;
so that he as God sitteth in the temple of God, shewing himself that
he is God. Remember ye not, that, when I was yet with you, I told you
these things? And now ye know what withholdeth that he might be revealed
in his time. For the mystery of iniquity doth already work: only he
who now letteth will let, until he be taken out of the way. And then
shall that Wicked be revealed, whom the Lord shall consume with the
spirit of his mouth, and shall destroy with the brightness of his coming:
Even him, whose coming is after the
working of Satan with all power and signs and lying wonders,
And with all deceivableness of unrighteousness in them that perish;
because they received not the love of the truth, that they might be
saved. And for this cause God shall
send them strong delusion, that they should believe a lie: That
they all might be damned who believed not the truth, but had pleasure
in unrighteousness.
Satan works with all power and signs and lying wonders. In the last days
there will be a falling away from God, and teachers will deceive, some in
God’s name. This is why its important to test all spirits to see whether
they are of God.
1 Timothy 4:1-16 Now the Spirit
speaketh expressly, that in the latter times some shall depart
from the faith, giving heed to seducing spirits, and doctrines of devils;
Speaking lies in hypocrisy; having their conscience seared with a hot
iron; Forbidding to marry, and commanding to abstain
from meats, which God hath created to be received with thanksgiving
of them which believe and know the truth. For every creature of God
is good, and nothing to be refused, if it be received with thanksgiving:
For it is sanctified by the word of God and
prayer. If thou put the brethren in remembrance of these things,
thou shalt be a good minister of Jesus Christ, nourished up in the words
of faith and of good doctrine, whereunto thou hast attained.
But refuse profane and old wives’ fables, and exercise thyself
rather unto godliness. For bodily exercise profiteth little:
but godliness is profitable unto all things, having promise of the life
that now is, and of that which is to come. This is a faithful saying
and worthy of all acceptation. For therefore we both labour and suffer
reproach, because we trust in the living God, who is the Saviour of
all men, specially of those that believe. These things command and teach.
Let no man despise thy youth; but be thou an example of the believers,
in word, in conversation, in charity, in spirit, in faith, in purity.
Till I come, give attendance to reading, to exhortation, to doctrine.
Neglect not the gift that is in thee, which
was given thee by prophecy, with the laying on of the hands of the presbytery.
Meditate upon these things; give thyself wholly to them; that
thy profiting may appear to all. Take heed unto thyself, and
unto the doctrine; continue in them: for in doing this thou shalt both
save thyself, and them that hear thee.
This is meant to be a head’s up and warning to
check everything against the Bible always.
Acts 17:11 Feelings can be misleading and knowing so little about the spirit
realm in an end-time world of darkness and deception by an angel of light
should bring a guard of caution to anyone seeking Truth. The serpent is
subtle and works in increments slowly to pull the veil over the eyes, just
like cooking frogs. Put them in boiling water and they jump, bring the water
their in to a boil and they just sit there and cook. Be cautious and trust
the Bible always seeking after Yeshua.
“Be not overcome
of evil, but overcome evil with good.” Romans 12:21
