The Wrath of God

Luke 4:14-21
And Jesus returned in the power of the Spirit into Galilee: and there went out a fame of him through all the region round about. And he taught in their synagogues, being glorified of all. And he came to Nazareth, where he had been brought up: and, as his custom was, he went into the synagogue on the sabbath day, and stood up for to read. And there was delivered unto him the book of the prophet Esaias. And when he had opened the book, he found the place where it was written, The Spirit of the Lord is upon me, because he hath anointed me to preach the gospel to the poor; he hath sent me to heal the brokenhearted, to preach deliverance to the captives, and recovering of sight to the blind, to set at liberty them that are bruised, To preach the acceptable year of the Lord. And he closed the book, and he gave it again to the minister, and sat down. And the eyes of all them that were in the synagogue were fastened on him. And he began to say unto them, This day is this scripture fulfilled in your ears.

However this isn’t where the prophecy of Isaiah ended.

Isaiah 61:1-3
The Spirit of the Lord GOD is upon me; because the LORD hath anointed me to preach good tidings unto the meek; he hath sent me to bind up the brokenhearted, to proclaim liberty to the captives, and the opening of the prison to them that are bound; To proclaim the acceptable year of the LORD, and the day of vengeance of our God; to comfort all that mourn; To appoint unto them that mourn in Zion, to give unto them beauty for ashes, the oil of joy for mourning, the garment of praise for the spirit of heaviness; that they might be called trees of righteousness, the planting of the LORD, that he might be glorified.

Why did Yeshua stop at proclaiming the acceptable year of the Lord? The coming of the Messiah is in several parts, first as the suffering servant to bring salvation to mankind through the redemption of the blood of the Lamb and His second coming with sudden destruction and to gather His bride. This page goes into the study of the wrath of God at His second coming and the beginning of the day of the Lord.

I believe the wrath of God is presented in the seven trumpets and seven bowls of Revelation. When comets strike the earth, water turns to blood, and enormous natural disasters take place, you know the wrath of God is here. It is heralded by signs in the heavens described in the sixth seal and is tied to Christ’s coming and the beginning of the day of the Lord. The Bible also ties it to the same kind of sudden destruction as the days of Noah and Lot, catching the world off-guard.

Matthew 24:36-39
But of that day and hour knoweth no man, no, not the angels of heaven, but my Father only. But as the days of Noah were, so shall also the coming of the Son of man be. For as in the days that were before the flood they were eating and drinking, marrying and giving in marriage, until the day that Noe entered into the ark, And knew not until the flood came, and took them all away; so shall also the coming of the Son of man be.

Luke 17:26-33
And as it was in the days of Noe, so shall it be also in the days of the Son of man. They did eat, they drank, they married wives, they were given in marriage, until the day that Noah entered into the ark, and the flood came, and destroyed them all. Likewise also as it was in the days of Lot; they did eat, they drank, they bought, they sold, they planted, they builded; But the same day that Lot went out of Sodom it rained fire and brimstone from heaven, and destroyed them all. Even thus shall it be in the day when the Son of man is revealed.
[Abomination of desolation » Matthew 24:17-22]
In that day, he which shall be upon the housetop, and his stuff in the house, let him not come down to take it away: and he that is in the field, let him likewise not return back. Remember Lot’s wife. Whosoever shall seek to save his life shall lose it; and whosoever shall lose his life shall preserve it.

From the above, we can see that the day and hour of this sudden destruction at Christ’s coming is unknown, but God’s wrath comes just like it did with Noah and Lot. In both cases, there were righteous people who were saved from the wrath of God. In Noah’s day, the wrath was global destruction by flood, but Noah and his family were protected through forewarning and obedience in building the ark to be lifted above the destruction on the surface of the Earth below by the waters.

In Lot’s day, the Lord forewarned Abraham prompting a question of whether or not God would send His wrath if there were any righteous present. Genesis 18:17-33 True to His Word, the Lord removed the only righteous people from the destination of His wrath prior to the destruction of Sodom and Gomorrah. Abraham believed and it was counted to him as righteousness just as we believe in Christ and obey His ways of love and we are made righteous by His blood. Both of these cases linked to Yeshua’s coming describe the same sudden destruction that is the wrath of God to come.

Why is the wrath of God coming and who is it for?

Ephesians 5:1-7
Be ye therefore followers of God, as dear children; And walk in love, as Christ also hath loved us, and hath given himself for us an offering and a sacrifice to God for a sweet smelling savour. But fornication, and all uncleanness, or covetousness, let it not be once named among you, as becometh saints; Neither filthiness, nor foolish talking, nor jesting, which are not convenient: but rather giving of thanks. For this ye know, that no whoremonger, nor unclean person, nor covetous man, who is an idolater, hath any inheritance in the kingdom of Christ and of God. Let no man deceive you with vain words: for because of these things cometh the wrath of God upon the children of disobedience. Be not ye therefore partakers with them.

Romans 13:4
For he is the minister of God to thee for good. But if thou do that which is evil, be afraid; for he beareth not the sword in vain: for he is the minister of God, a revenger to execute wrath upon him that doeth evil.

There are very wicked people in the world today who have desires to rule over the earth and all therein under the power and authority of Lucifer. For most, there may not be an active knowledge of this spiritual reality, but the attitude of much of the world today is one of denial and ignorance to the spiritual nature of our reality. Many people fail to recognize that there are spiritual powers that have existed since the beginning of time and who have the destruction of mankind in mind. They play on our pride and lusts to influence the direction of religions and politics over generations. Their hallmark is the same regardless of what facade is shown, they are in direct opposition to the God of Love.

Ephesians 6:12
For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places.

Ultimately, whether people realize it or not, the actions in effect today will bring about the coming New World Order that will bring the great tribulation and the war on the saints. We can already see in the world today that hatred, spite, murder, vanity and pride are gaining a stronger grip on much of the world. As faith, family and morals continue to be chipped away at though the various means the world moves deeper into the shadows and darkness. We are told not to be partakers in their sins so we don’t receive the just rewards and to come out of the world system and instead follow God. Revelation 18:2-8

There are also some seen in Matthew 25:1-13 who are waiting for the bridegroom, but truly don’t have a relationship with Christ who are cast into great tribulation. They even call Him Lord, but Yeshua does not know them because they never took the time to know Him.

Revelation 2:18-29
And unto the angel of the church in Thyatira write; These things saith the Son of God, who hath his eyes like unto a flame of fire, and his feet are like fine brass; I know thy works, and charity, and service, and faith, and thy patience, and thy works; and the last to be more than the first. Notwithstanding I have a few things against thee, because thou sufferest that woman Jezebel, which calleth herself a prophetess, to teach and to seduce my servants to commit fornication, and to eat things sacrificed unto idols. And I gave her space to repent of her fornication; and she repented not. Behold, I will cast her into a bed, and them that commit adultery with her into great tribulation, except they repent of their deeds. And I will kill her children with death; and all the churches shall know that I am he which searcheth the reins and hearts: and I will give unto every one of you according to your works. But unto you I say, and unto the rest in Thyatira, as many as have not this doctrine, and which have not known the depths of Satan, as they speak; I will put upon you none other burden. But that which ye have already hold fast till I come. And he that overcometh, and keepeth my works unto the end, to him will I give power over the nations: And he shall rule them with a rod of iron; as the vessels of a potter shall they be broken to shivers: even as I received of my Father. And I will give him the morning star. He that hath an ear, let him hear what the Spirit saith unto the churches.

I believe this is the hour of temptation, or putting to proof of Revelation 3:10.

Revelation 14:17-20
And another angel came out of the temple which is in heaven, he also having a sharp sickle. And another angel came out from the altar, which had power over fire; and cried with a loud cry to him that had the sharp sickle, saying, Thrust in thy sharp sickle, and gather the clusters of the vine of the earth; for her grapes are fully ripe. And the angel thrust in his sickle into the earth, and gathered the vine of the earth, and cast it into the great winepress of the wrath of God. And the winepress was trodden without the city, and blood came out of the winepress, even unto the horse bridles, by the space of a thousand and six hundred furlongs.

This casting into the hour of temptation results from those being cast into the winepress of the wrath of God who do not know God because they do not have a personal relationship with Him and are not led by the Holy Spirit. These look and act like the world around them, even though some profess faith in Christ. It is believed by some -- as has been taught -- that accepting Christ seals ones fate as saved, but many who say Lord, Lord are shut out of the marriage. Escaping God’s wrath to attend the marriage of the Lamb revolves around obedience to God’s Word, a greater understanding from His Word and communication with Him by the Holy Spirit.

God’s wrath is for the children of disobedience. However, if we obey God’s Word, the Bible, then we are the children of obedience. We either obey God or we don’t. If we love God we will obey Him. John 14:15-21 This is the importance of obedience. We are all sinners transgressing God’s laws, the shadows of love. The only salvation from our sins is through Yeshua. He removes the penalty for our sins and we are then not held to the law we broke, but covered by His blood shed for the remission of sins. True repentance changes the heart to please God and align themselves with His ways of love. Those who do not turn from their wicked ways and accept this salvation have no covering for their sins and will be held responsible for the consequences. Therefore it is imperative that we believe and obey while developing a relationship with Him in prayer and reading His Word to learn about who He is. In our search for Truth, we will find Him and the promised Comforter through whom our relationship will grow stronger.

John 15:15-29
If ye love me, keep my commandments. And I will pray the Father, and he shall give you another Comforter, that he may abide with you for ever; Even the Spirit of truth; whom the world cannot receive, because it seeth him not, neither knoweth him: but ye know him; for he dwelleth with you, and shall be in you. I will not leave you comfortless: I will come to you. Yet a little while, and the world seeth me no more; but ye see me: because I live, ye shall live also. At that day ye shall know that I am in my Father, and ye in me, and I in you. He that hath my commandments, and keepeth them, he it is that loveth me: and he that loveth me shall be loved of my Father, and I will love him, and will manifest myself to him. Judas saith unto him, not Iscariot, Lord, how is it that thou wilt manifest thyself unto us, and not unto the world? Jesus answered and said unto him, If a man love me, he will keep my words: and my Father will love him, and we will come unto him, and make our abode with him. He that loveth me not keepeth not my sayings: and the word which ye hear is not mine, but the Father’s which sent me. These things have I spoken unto you, being yet present with you. But the Comforter, which is the Holy Ghost, whom the Father will send in my name, he shall teach you all things, and bring all things to your remembrance, whatsoever I have said unto you. Peace I leave with you, my peace I give unto you: not as the world giveth, give I unto you. Let not your heart be troubled, neither let it be afraid. Ye have heard how I said unto you, I go away, and come again unto you. If ye loved me, ye would rejoice, because I said, I go unto the Father: for my Father is greater than I. And now I have told you before it come to pass, that, when it is come to pass, ye might believe.

It is through relationship with Christ that we receive the Holy Spirit, enter into your prayer closet and speak with the Most High. Listen, read His Word and He will reveal Himself in a personal way to you and you will receive that promised relationship. But first we must recognize where our walk is apart from God’s ways and repent, turning from our old ways to follow His most perfect ways of Love.

Matthew 7:13-23
Enter ye in at the strait gate: for wide is the gate, and broad is the way, that leadeth to destruction, and many there be which go in thereat: Because strait is the gate, and narrow is the way, which leadeth unto life, and few there be that find it. Beware of false prophets, which come to you in sheep’s clothing, but inwardly they are ravening wolves. Ye shall know them by their fruits. Do men gather grapes of thorns, or figs of thistles? Even so every good tree bringeth forth good fruit; but a corrupt tree bringeth forth evil fruit. A good tree cannot bring forth evil fruit, neither can a corrupt tree bring forth good fruit. Every tree that bringeth not forth good fruit is hewn down, and cast into the fire. Wherefore by their fruits ye shall know them. Not every one that saith unto me, Lord, Lord, shall enter into the kingdom of heaven; but he that doeth the will of my Father which is in heaven. Many will say to me in that day, Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in thy name? and in thy name have cast out devils? and in thy name done many wonderful works? And then will I profess unto them, I never knew you: depart from me, ye that work iniquity.

1 Thessalonians 1:10
And to wait for his Son from heaven, whom he raised from the dead, even Jesus, which delivered us from the wrath to come.

While hell is eternal wrath by separation from God, who is love, the wrath of God I will focus on in this study is coming before eternity as foretold in the Bible through the prophets of old. Those who love God and each other, believing in Yeshua, are not appointed to God’s wrath, any of it. We all have free will and God has never interfered with that. Anyone who is separated from God’s love for eternity chose that path themselves by refusing the only salvation out of it offered by God through His only begotten Son, Yeshua. Many people worship many gods, but only One has any power to save the lost. God is just and so His Word will be fulfilled and the heavens and the earth will shake.

Controversy of Zion

Another reason for God’s wrath is judgement of adulterous Jerusalem who killed the prophets. This is laid out in the prophetic symbology of the beast of Revelation, whose history is laid out in the visions of Daniel and John. More detail can be seen summarized in the the fourth kingdom.

Isaiah 34:1-2, 4-5, 8
Come near, ye nations, to hear; and hearken, ye people: let the earth hear, and all that is therein; the world, and all things that come forth of it. For the indignation of the LORD [is] upon all nations, and [his] fury upon all their armies: he hath utterly destroyed them, he hath delivered them to the slaughter. ... And all the host of heaven shall be dissolved, and the heavens shall be rolled together as a scroll: and all their host shall fall down, as the leaf falleth off from the vine, and as a falling [fig] from the fig tree. For my sword shall be bathed in heaven: behold, it shall come down upon Idumea, and upon the people of my curse, to judgment. ... For [it is] the day of the LORD’S vengeance, [and] the year of recompences for the controversy of Zion.

Revelation 6:12-16
And I beheld when he had opened the sixth seal, and, lo, there was a great earthquake; and the sun became black as sackcloth of hair, and the moon became as blood; And the stars of heaven fell unto the earth, even as a fig tree casteth her untimely figs, when she is shaken of a mighty wind. And the heaven departed as a scroll when it is rolled together; and every mountain and island were moved out of their places. And the kings of the earth, and the great men, and the rich men, and the chief captains, and the mighty men, and every bondman, and every free man, hid themselves in the dens and in the rocks of the mountains; And said to the mountains and rocks, Fall on us, and hide us from the face of him that sitteth on the throne, and from the wrath of the Lamb:

It’s interesting that the day of the Lord, the day of the wrath of God, is tied to the controversy or dispute of Zion, God’s holy hill. This whole idea of the woman (Jerusalem) sitting on Mount Zion representing adulterous Israel and the dragon’s seven heads the Gentile influence over her combined with the judgment of Bayblon filled up in the seventh bowl ties this all together.

Revelation 16:17-21
And the seventh angel poured out his vial into the air; and there came a great voice out of the temple of heaven, from the throne, saying, It is done. And there were voices, and thunders, and lightnings; and there was a great earthquake, such as was not since men were upon the earth, so mighty an earthquake, [and] so great. And the great city was divided into three parts, and the cities of the nations fell: and great Babylon came in remembrance before God, to give unto her the cup of the wine of the fierceness of his wrath. And every island fled away, and the mountains were not found. And there fell upon men a great hail out of heaven, [every stone] about the weight of a talent: and men blasphemed God because of the plague of the hail; for the plague thereof was exceeding great.

God will judge Jerusalem, the seat of the dragon at the time, and cast her down utterly. It is from these ruins that the Messiah will raise up His new city and temple and rule undisputed from then on. Once the wrath of God has recompensed her, the dispute over Jerusalem will be over forever.

When does God’s Wrath come?

The herald of His coming wrath are the signs in the heavens at the sixth seal...

Revelation 6:12-17
And I beheld when he [Yeshua] had opened the sixth seal, and, lo, there was a great earthquake; and the sun became black as sackcloth of hair, and the moon became as blood; And the stars of heaven fell unto the earth, even as a fig tree casteth her untimely figs, when she is shaken of a mighty wind. And the heaven departed as a scroll when it is rolled together; and every mountain and island were moved out of their places. And the kings of the earth, and the great men, and the rich men, and the chief captains, and the mighty men, and every bondman, and every free man, hid themselves in the dens and in the rocks of the mountains; And said to the mountains and rocks, Fall on us, and hide us from the face of him that sitteth on the throne, and from the wrath of the Lamb: For the great day of his wrath is come; and who shall be able to stand?

The day of the Lord is the beginning of His wrath. It is a day of darkness as I believe it follows soon after the sixth seal.

Joel 2:31
The sun shall be turned into darkness, and the moon into blood, before the great and terrible day of the LORD come.

So the sixth seal marks the recognition of those on the earth of the coming wrath and the trumpets are clearly judgments coming upon the earth. To see this, it helps to go over the study of the day of the Lord. The seventh seal is ½ hour of silence in heaven, then the trumpets begin.

Revelation 8:1,2
And when he had opened the seventh seal, there was silence in heaven about the space of half an hour. And I saw the seven angels which stood before God; and to them were given seven trumpets.

It is soon after the harpazo or at the time of the harpazo that the sixth seal takes place. This is also as soon as ½ hour before the wrath of God begins to be poured out in the seven trumpets and is filled up in the seven bowls Revelation 15:1. I would like to take this opportunity to point out a scripture that I believe is often misinterpreted placing the sixth seal at the end of the 3½ year great tribulation. This understanding is key to the timing of the wrath of God following the time of Jacob’s trouble.

Matthew 24:29-31
Immediately after the tribulation of those days [Matthew 24:15-28] shall the sun be darkened, and the moon shall not give her light, and the stars shall fall from heaven, and the powers of the heavens shall be shaken: And then shall appear the sign of the Son of man in heaven: and then shall all the tribes of the earth mourn, and they shall see the Son of man coming in the clouds of heaven with power and great glory. And he shall send his angels with a great sound of a trumpet, and they shall gather together his elect from the four winds, from one end of heaven to the other.

Mark 13:24-27
But in those days, after that tribulation, the sun shall be darkened, and the moon shall not give her light, And the stars of heaven shall fall, and the powers that are in heaven shall be shaken. And then shall they see the Son of man coming in the clouds with great power and glory. And then shall he send his angels, and shall gather together his elect from the four winds, from the uttermost part of the earth to the uttermost part of heaven.

Luke 21:25-27
And there shall be signs in the sun, and in the moon, and in the stars; and upon the earth distress of nations, with perplexity; the sea and the waves roaring; men’s hearts failing them for fear, and for looking after those things which are coming on the earth: for the powers of heaven shall be shaken. And then shall they see the Son of man coming in a cloud with power and great glory.

There is a separation between Matthew 24:29 and Matthew 24:30,31 that encompasses the wrath of God being poured out. It’s the same thing with Luke 21:26 and Luke 21:27 and with Mark 13:25 and Mark13:26,27. These scriptures need to be looked at in light of an understanding of what the “powers of heaven shall be shaken” means. Fortunately, the Bible is always there to provide the answers we seek. The following scriptures demonstrate the association of shaking with God’s wrath comprising the seven trumpets, thunders and bowls.

Isaiah 2:12-21
For the day of the LORD of hosts shall be upon every one that is proud and lofty, and upon every one that is lifted up; and he shall be brought low: And upon all the cedars of Lebanon, that are high and lifted up, and upon all the oaks of Bashan, And upon all the high mountains, and upon all the hills that are lifted up, And upon every high tower, and upon every fenced wall, And upon all the ships of Tarshish, and upon all pleasant pictures. And the loftiness of man shall be bowed down, and the haughtiness of men shall be made low: and the LORD alone shall be exalted in that day. And the idols he shall utterly abolish. And they shall go into the holes of the rocks, and into the caves of the earth, for fear of the LORD, and for the glory of his majesty, when he ariseth to shake terribly the earth. In that day a man shall cast his idols of silver, and his idols of gold, which they made each one for himself to worship, to the moles and to the bats; To go into the clefts of the rocks, and into the tops of the ragged rocks, for fear of the LORD, and for the glory of his majesty, when he ariseth to shake terribly the earth.

Notice in the above scripture that the day of the Lord is tied to this time when the people go into caves and holes in the rocks for fear of the Lord. This is exactly what is described happening at the sixth seal in Revelation 6:15-17 when “the kings of the earth, and the great men, and the rich men, and the chief captains, and the mighty men, and every bondman, and every free man, hid themselves in the dens and in the rocks of the mountains; And said to the mountains and rocks, Fall on us, and hide us from the face of him that sitteth on the throne, and from the wrath of the Lamb...” Moreover, this time is when the Lord arises to “shake terribly the earth.” And as if to make a point of it, this phrase is repeated twice.

Isaiah 13:10-13
For the stars of heaven and the constellations thereof shall not give their light: the sun shall be darkened in his going forth, and the moon shall not cause her light to shine. And I will punish the world for their evil, and the wicked for their iniquity; and I will cause the arrogancy of the proud to cease, and will lay low the haughtiness of the terrible. I will make a man more precious than fine gold; even a man than the golden wedge of Ophir. Therefore I will shake the heavens, and the earth shall remove out of her place, in the wrath of the LORD of hosts, and in the day of his fierce anger.

Here we see the sun and moon darkened prior to the punishment of the evil, proud and terrible described as God shaking the heavens and the earth. In addition, the shaking of the heavens and earth are tied to the wrath of the Lord and the day of His fierce anger. This shaking and moving of the mountains is seen also in the Psalms.

Psalm 18:6,7
In my distress I called upon the LORD, and cried unto my God: he heard my voice out of his temple, and my cry came before him, even into his ears. Then the earth shook and trembled; the foundations also of the hills moved and were shaken, because he was wroth.

As we can see, this short sentence in Matthew 24:29 actually encompasses God’s wrath being poured out and the beginning of the day of the Lord = shaking of the heavens = God’s wrath = Sudden destruction from the Almighty. This wrath of God takes place over a 1230 day period immediately after the time of Jacob’s trouble and ends 42 months after the abomination of desolation, Revelation 13:5, when Christ destroys the beast and false prophet in the lake of fire upon His return in glory. Revelation 19:20

The Seals, Trumpets, and Bowls

The antichrist dominates the world while God’s wrath is poured out. He also goes after all those who believe in Christ after the harpazo. They are still saved from hell in their belief in Christ and cleansed of all their sins, but they will not be part of the bride of Christ because the marriage happens before Christ returns in glory. This is why those with no oil in their lamps from the kingdom parable in Matthew 25:1-13 are shut out of the marriage. This is also evidenced by the wife returning with Christ on white horses when He returns in glory. Revelation 19:7-8; 11-14

When does the wrath of God for this time end?

Revelation 15:1
And I saw another sign in heaven, great and marvellous, seven angels having the seven last plagues; for in them is filled up the wrath of God.

Revelation 16:17
And the seventh angel poured out his vial into the air; and there came a great voice out of the temple of heaven, from the throne, saying, It is done.

So the 7 bowl judgments, after the 7th trumpet and after the 6th seal fill up, or complete the wrath of God. So the time from just after the 6th seal until “it is done” at the seventh bowl, is the wrath of God. This is just before Christ returns, therefore, it would logically follow that the wrath of God is that whole time just prior to His return in glory. This second half of the 70th week of Daniel, looks something like this. The scriptures are there for your reference.

The antichrist only has power for 1260 days. That power is given to him at the abomination of desolation when the dragon is cast out of heaven and gives him his power. This is also when the dragon uses the beast to kill as many Jews in Judea as possible, the time of Jacob’s trouble. That time-frame is set in stone and God’s wrath isn’t poured out after Christ returns in glory.

Revelation 19:20
And the beast was taken, and with him the false prophet that wrought miracles before him, with which he deceived them that had received the mark of the beast, and them that worshipped his image. These both were cast alive into a lake of fire burning with brimstone.

This is the point that the antichrist’s power is taken away. That means that Christ MUST return in glory 1260 days after the abomination of desolation. That means that the wrath of God cannot extend past 1260 days. As I mentioned previously, it also cannot start until after the 144,000 are sealed and the bride of Christ is caught up to meet the Lord in the air. Both of those are addressed in Revelation 7.

What’s also interesting is that Revelation 7 is nestled nicely between the sixth seal in Revelation 6 and the seventh seal in Revelation 8:1. Then the trumpets begin to sound and the wrath of God is poured out. I believe the fact that the wrath of God comes suddenly and unexpectedly to the world and we also don’t know the day or hour of the coming of our Lord and our gathering to Him speaks to the placement of the multitudes standing before the throne and before the Lamb in heaven in Revelation 7, after the sixth seal and before the trumpets of God’s wrath. The bowls then finalize the wrath of God at the end just before He returns in glory.

We’ve seen that the church is the bride. If you’re the bride, you really don’t want to stay here for this time of God’s wrath. It is not for us. It is a time of great deceptions, distorted truth, and great darkness in the world. The church of Philadelphia is expressly removed from that time...

Revelation 3:7-13
And to the angel of the church in Philadelphia write; These things saith he that is holy, he that is true, he that hath the key of David, he that openeth, and no man shutteth; and shutteth, and no man openeth; I know thy works: behold, I have set before thee an open door, and no man can shut it: for thou hast a little strength, and hast kept my word, and hast not denied my name. Behold, I will make them of the synagogue of Satan, which say they are Jews, and are not, but do lie; behold, I will make them to come and worship before thy feet, and to know that I have loved thee. Because thou hast kept the word of my patience, I also will keep thee from the hour of temptationG3986, which shall come upon all the world, to try them that dwell upon the earth. Behold, I come quickly: hold that fast which thou hast, that no man take thy crown. Him that overcometh will I make a pillar in the temple of my God, and he shall go no more out: and I will write upon him the name of my God, and the name of the city of my God, which is new Jerusalem, which cometh down out of heaven from my God: and I will write upon him my new name. He that hath an ear, let him hear what the Spirit saith unto the churches.

This “temptation” or putting to proof is for those who have not already lived their lives in obedience to God’s Word. We who believe now have been living by faith. This passage also answers our next question, all the world. For those who love Christ, remaining behind would mean missing the marriage of the Lamb, something I do not desire to miss. Should we feel guilty for escaping this time that other have to go through? NO!!! They have made their choice, but we must work to ensure people are not making their choices based on lack of knowledge of the Truth as given in the Bible. We are witnesses until our removal in God’s timing. We are not of this world, but we are the salt and light of it. Indeed, we are told to watch and pray that we are counted worthy to escape. So do not feel guilty, rather bring everyone you can with us by sharing the Gospel that saved you, they can escape too!!!

Luke 21:34-36
And take heed to yourselves, lest at any time your hearts be overcharged with surfeiting, and drunkenness, and cares of this life, and so that day come upon you unawares. For as a snare shall it come on all them that dwell on the face of the whole earth. Watch ye therefore, and pray always, that ye may be accounted worthy to escape all these things that shall come to pass, and to stand before the Son of man.

Where Is God’s Wrath Coming To?

Luke 21:34-36
And take heed to yourselves, lest at any time your hearts be overcharged with surfeiting, and drunkenness, and cares of this life, and so that day come upon you unawares. For as a snare shall it come on all them that dwell on the face of the whole earth. Watch ye therefore, and pray always, that ye may be accounted worthy to escape all these things that shall come to pass, and to stand before the Son of man.

This passage clearly states that it comes as a snare on “all them that dwell on the face of the whole earth.” That’s pretty all-inclusive. But what day is it that comes as a snare on the whole earth?

1 Thessalonians 5:1-4
But of the times and the seasons, brethren, ye have no need that I write unto you. For yourselves know perfectly that the day of the Lord so cometh as a thief in the night. For when they shall say, Peace and safety; then sudden destruction cometh upon them, as travail upon a woman with child; and they shall not escape. But ye, brethren, are not in darkness, that that day should overtake you as a thief.

This is the beginning of the day of the Lord. If God’s wrath is coming to the whole earth and we aren’t appointed to God’s wrath, where will we be? Not on the earth. We are told we can escape this time and stand before the Son of man. At the same time, we are told that those not in Christ cannot escape. Why? Because God’s wrath is coming on the whole face of the earth. Therefore, the only way it’s possible to escape is to be removed from the whole face of the earth before God’s wrath comes. The only One who can do that is Christ at the pre-wrath harpazo. The Bible says the day of the Lord is the beginning of that wrath of God, and Joel 2:31 says that it is immediately after the sixth seal.

The beginning of the 3½ year great tribulation is the time of Jacob’s trouble, which I believe lasts for 30 days at most. Matthew 24:29 places the sixth seal immediately after it. The time of Jacob’s trouble is for Israel and begins when the dragon begins persecuting her, Revelation 12:13, after the Abomination of desolation. Therefore, it ends when the dragon can no longer get to Israel, which according to Revelation 12:14 is 1260 days before the end of the 70th week. That places the sixth seal and day of the Lord at the mid-point of the 7 years. Further study on Matthew 24:29-31

Time is short and the day of the Lord will come like a thief in the night. I don’t want to see anyone go through this time, but rather that they would come to repentance and accept the saving blood of Christ, the only pure sacrifice that is worthy to take the sins of the world. Let us turn to Yeshua and walk uprightly in obedience to His Word, which will guide and direct our paths.
