Lt. Col. Bob Maginnis (USA-Ret.), senior fellow for national security at the Family Research Council (FRC), shares the concerns of some congressional members about the legality of the visits. �It seems to me that they violated the DeLay Amendment, which basically says that there are certain people and countries you can�t expose to our high technology,� he notes. �These are the top generals of the Chinese military. They haven�t made any secret about being adversaries of the U.S.� During a recent visit to Washington, the top Chinese general told the Fox News Channel that his nation has a long way to go before it catches the U.S. militarily and that it does not have the capability to challenge the United States. �The Chinese are playing a big game,� suggests Maginnis. �They�re rapidly increasing their military capabilities in many, many areas that are truly becoming a significant threat in time against our own interests.� And the FRC national security senior fellows points out that the Chinese just recently confirmed the existence of their new aircraft carrier and the fifth-generation J-20 fighter. � America ~ Kings of the East |
