News for January 31, 2008Malachi 3:3 This verse puzzled some women in a Bible study and they wondered what this statement meant about the character and nature of God. One of the women offered to find out the process of refining silver and get back to the group at their next Bible Study. That week, the woman called a silversmith and made an appointment to watch him at work. She didn't mention anything about the reason for her interest beyond her curiosity about the process of refining Silver. As she watched the silversmith, he held a piece of silver over the fire and let it heat up. He explained that in refining silver, one needed to hold the silver in the middle of the fire where the flames were hottest as to burn away all the impurities. The woman thought about God holding us in such a hot spot; then she thought again about the verse that says: 'He sits as a refiner and purifier of silver.' She asked the silversmith if it was true that he had to sit there in front of the fire the whole time. The man answered that yes, he not only had to sit there holding the silver, but he had to keep his eyes on the silver the entire time it was in the fire. If the silver was left a moment too long in the flames, it would be destroyed. The woman was silent for a moment. Then she asked the silversmith, 'How do you know when the silver is fully refined?' He smiled at her and answered, 'Oh, that's easy -- when I see my image in it.' If today you are feeling the heat of the fire, remember that God has his eye on you and will keep watching you until He sees His image in you.
Obama would talk with Iran and Syria The Jerusalem
Post (January 31, 2008) - US Democratic
presidential candidate Barack Obama said he would favor holding direct talks
with Iran and Syria in a bid to stabilize the Middle East if elected president.
In an interview with France's Paris Match on Thursday, Obama said: "I
want to have direct talks with countries like Iran and Syria because I don't
believe we can stabilize the region unless not just our friends but also
our enemies are involved in these discussions." He was also quoted
as saying he would also hold a summit with leaders of Muslim states to address
the growing gap between the West and the world of Islam. The Illinois senator
added that to repair the image of the United States in the world, he would "put
an end to the war in Iraq." "Occupying the country has put the
odds against us with the world," Obama said. Meanwhile, a visiting
Iranian official said Thursday in Cairo that Iran and Egypt would work together
to resolve the Middle East's top crises such as in Iraq, Lebanon and the
Palestinian territories, and that both wanted to upgrade their diplomatic
relations, severed nearly three decades ago. But the Egyptians did not comment
on the remarks - as they hadn't on those the day before by the Iranian parliament
speaker who said Egypt and Iran would soon restore full ties. Cairo's silence
indicated that, despite the flurry of visiting Iranian officials and an
apparent thaw between the two states, Egypt expects more than just words
from Teheran. The North African Sunni state has always maintained that normal
diplomatic relations would come only after the overwhelmingly Shi'ite Iran
stopped meddling in the internal affairs of Arab countries. Teheran cut
diplomatic ties after Cairo signed a peace agreement with Israel in 1979
and provided asylum for the deposed Iranian Shah Muhammad Reza Pahlavi.

Rare snowstorm hits the Middle East Associated
Press (January 30, 2008) - A rare snowstorm
swept the Middle East on Wednesday, blanketing parts of the Holy Land in
white, shutting schools and sending excited children into the streets for
snowball fights. The weather in Jerusalem topped local newscasts, eclipsing
a government report on Israel's 2006 war in Lebanon. Men in long Arab robes
pelted each other with snowballs in the Jordanian capital, Amman, and the
West Bank city of Ramallah, seat of the Palestinian government, came to
a standstill. "I'm originally from Gaza where snow never falls,"
said Bothaina Smairi, 28, who was out in Ramallah taking photographs. "The
white snow is covering the old world and I feel like I am in a new world
where everything is white, clean, and beautiful." Jerusalem's Old City
was coated in white. A few ultra-Orthodox Jews, wearing plastic bags over
their hats to keep them dry, prayed at the Western Wall, Judaism's holiest
site. Snow falls in Jerusalem once or twice each winter, but temperatures
rarely drop low enough for it to stick. The Israeli weather service said
up to 8 inches of snow fell in the city. By late morning, the snow changed
to rain, turning the city into a slushy mess. But forecasters said temperatures
were expected to drop, and the snow would continue through Thursday morning.
Heavy snow also was reported in the Golan Heights and the northern Israeli
town of Safed, and throughout the West Bank. In Ramallah, residents were
surprised to see snow when they awoke. For some, it was their first time. "I
am just astonished with the snow. When I saw the snow this morning, I felt
happy, my heart was laughing," said Mary Zabaro, 17. In Amman, where
a foot of snow fell, children used inflatable tubes as sleds. Some roads
were temporarily closed. Snow covered most mountain villages and blocked
roads in Lebanon. The storm disrupted power supplies in most Lebanese towns
and villages, exacerbating existing power cuts. Parts of the Beirut-Damascus
highway were closed. Temperatures in Syria dipped below freezing and snow
blanketed the hills overlooking the capital, Damascus.
Tsunami alert as quake hits Indonesia Herald
Sun (January 30, 2008) - A STRONG 6.6-magnitude
earthquake rocked the eastern Indonesian province of Maluku today, prompting
the issuing of a tsunami alert, Indonesia's Meteorological and Geophysics
Board said. The earthquake, which struck at 6.32pm AEDT, was centred 300km
northeast of the East Timorese capital Dili, some 23km under the floor of
the Banda Sea, the office said. "There is a tsunami potential,'' the
statement said. "The quake has tsunami potential because it was shallow,
at 23 kilometres. The area that should be on alert is around Timor,'' Suharjono,
from the geophysics headquarters here, told ElShinta radio. The US Geological
Survey put the magnitude of the quake at 6.2, at a depth of only 10km under
the sea floor. Witnesses in Dili that the quake was not strongly felt there.
Indonesia sits on the Pacific "Ring of Fire'' where continental plates
meet, causing frequent seismic and volcanic activity. The archipelago nation
was hardest hit by the earthquake-triggered Asian tsunami in December 2004.
Some 168,000 people alone were killed in Aceh province on the northern tip
of Sumatra. Slovenia and
Malta ratify EU treaty EU Observer
(January 30, 2008) - Slovenia and Malta have
approved the new EU Lisbon treaty by a large majority, but in Slovakia the
treaty vote has become tangled up in a dispute over a separate law. Early
Tuesday evening (29 January), the two-million strong Slovenia, currently
chairing the 27-strong union became the second member state to ratify the
new EU treaty in its national parliament, following Hungary which adopted
it in late December. Out of 90 MPs, 74 voted for the treaty and only 6 members
of a small right-wing Slovene National Party voted against after previously
tabling a proposal for a referendum on the issue, rejected by other parliamentarians.
In his speech to the parliament ahead of the vote, Prime Minister Janez
Jansa openly suggested that MPs were voting on the same content as was in
the original European Constitution, which was rejected by French and Dutch
voters in 2005. He said that thanks to the new Lisbon treaty, the constitution's
ratification by 17 other member states was not in vain, Slovenian media
reported. Mr Jansa also said he expected at least 20 of the 27 EU member
states to ratify the treaty by the end of June and others to do so by the
end of the year, stressing that one of Slovenia's jobs as EU presidency
country was to "carefully monitor ratification procedures." A
little while later on Tuesday, Malta became the third country to give the
go-ahead to the document, with its parliament voting unanimously to approve
a motion of ratification put by Prime Minister Lawrence Gonzi. Both government
and opposition parties supported the treaty, partly due to it giving the
tiny Mediterranean island of less than half a million inhabitants an extra
seat in the European Parliament. "I find it particularly symbolic that
each of the first three countries to approve the new Treaty are member states
that joined the European Union in 2004," European Commission president
Jose Manuel Barroso said in reaction to votes. He added, "This shows
that enlargement is an inspiration and impetus for the future development
of European integration." more...
Ahmadinejad tells West: Accept Israel's 'imminent collapse'
Haaretz (January
30, 2008) - Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad called on the West
Wednesday to acknowledge Israel's "imminent collapse." Speaking
to a crowd on a visit to the southern port of Bushehr, where Iran's first
light-water nuclear power plant is being built by Russia, Ahmadinejad further
incited his listeners to "stop supporting the Zionists, as [their]
regime reached its final stage." "Accept that the life of Zionists
will sooner or later come to an end," the Iranian president said in
a televised speech. He added, "What we have right now is the last chapter
[of Israeli atrocities] which the Palestinians and regional nations will
confront and eventually turn in Palestine's favor." Iran does not acknowledge
Israel and Ahmadinejad has in the past sparked international outcry by referring
to the systematic murder of six million Jews in World War II as a "myth"
and calling for Israel to be "wiped off the map." Iran is currently
also mediating in the crisis over the Gaza Strip, where Israel has imposed
a blockade on border crossings into the coastal territory, barring the entry
of supplies into the already impoverished area. Last week, Palestinian militants
blew holes in the barrier separating the Gaza Strip from Egypt, prompting
hundreds of thousands of Gazans to pour into Egypt in search of supplies.
Ahmadinejad also urged the Western powers to help build nuclear power plants
in his country saying it will be too late if they do not decide to do so
immediately. "If you will not come, this nation will build nuclear
plants based on its own resources and when you come some four years later
it will reject your request and not then give you any opportunity,"
he said. "I am addressing leaders of two or three powers; do you remember
I sent you message and told you to stop be stubborn? If you think that you
can block the movement of Iranian nation, you are wrong," the Iranian
president continued. more... Ethiopian Woman Raised from the Dead after 12 Hours—Tells about Heaven Breaking Christian News (January 29, 2008) - Fatuma Shubisa, had married an evangelist, and had converted to Christianity from Islam. But the Ethiopian mother-of-nine fell sick and, after some time, she was found to have passed away by her mother who had come to care for her. There was great mourning in the small village of Alelu, as Fatuma's death was made known among friends and family members. But word of Fatuma's passing also reached the ears of a Christian missionary named Warsa Buta, who was in the area. Acting on a promise he says the Lord gave him the day he was saved—that God would raise the dead through him—Buta sought out the deceased woman. A non-Christian crowd gathered as Buta the missionary continued to pray over Fatuma's sheet-covered body. They asked, "Why is this Pentecostal man praying over a dead body?" Warsa related what happened next, "I had faith the Lord would work through me. I prayed as Peter prayed. 'Fatuma, be raised. I ask you in the name of the Lord. Come to life.' When I prayed that prayer—'Fatuma, rise in the name of Jesus'—she sat up in the bed." It had been 12 hours since Fatuma had died. "…Immediately I found myself in my body," explained Fatuma, "I sat up in my bed and started asking, 'What is this? What's happening? What's going on?' Then everybody was surprised. Some were commenting, 'A Pentecostal man can call back a dead soul to a body? If this is real, then we all will become Christians.' And they were shouting." During the time she was deceased, Fatuma apparently experienced some wonderful glimpses of Heaven, and of family members who had gone before, which she talks about on the CBN video report. EU troops mobilise for Chad role The Australian
(January 28, 2008) - The European Union will
today launch the biggest military operation in its history, a peacekeeping
force for Chad and the Central African Republic, according to officials.
The 3700-strong UN-mandated force, with France providing the lion's share
of troops, will help protect hundreds of thousands of refugees from the
strife-torn Darfur region of neighbouring Sudan. "All the conditions
are now fulfilled," so that the EU foreign ministers, meeting in Brussels
today, can "confirm the rapid launch of the operation", a European
diplomat said, following a final meeting by representatives of the 27 EU
member states on Friday at the end of five months of fractious preparations. "The
departure of the first elements should follow fairly quickly and the deployment
will begin in the first week of February," he added. Some Chadian rebels
have expressed fears that the European force will help prop up Chadian President
Idriss Deby Itno, an ally of Paris. However, during a trip to the Democratic
Republic of Congo on Friday, French Foreign Minister Bernard Kouchner said
the EU mission was solely to protect displaced refugees. The foreign ministers "should
authorise the EU operation commander to activate the deployment of the forces
and start the execution of the mission," the EU said in a statement.
A draft agreement on the force, to be endorsed by the EU foreign ministers,
emphasises it will operate in a "neutral, impartial and independent
manner". In accordance with a UN Security Council resolution, the "military
bridging operation" will operate for one year. According to the EU,
the force will "actively work for the improvement of the security situation
in Chad and the Central African Republic. It will contribute to protecting
civilians in danger, particularly displaced persons and refugees".
The force will be commanded by Irish Lieutenant General Pat Nash and have
its official headquarters in France. It had originally been due to deploy
last November but a reluctance to provide troops and materiel held up progress.
The force's leader on the ground in eastern Chad will be French Brigadier
General Jean-Philippe Ganascia. Soldiers from 14 countries will take part,
including 2000 French, 400 Irish and 400 Polish troops, another diplomat
said. At least 200,000 people have died from war, famine and disease in
Darfur and more than two million have fled their homes since rebels took
up arms against Khartoum in 2003.
Blair Wants Mideast Peace in 2008 Associated
Press (January 27, 2008) - Former British
Prime Minister Tony Blair told the final session of the World Economic Forum
on Sunday that he wants an Israeli-Palestinian peace deal and a pact on
climate change by the end of 2008. Sharing the same level of ambition, Nobel
Peace Prize laureate Elie Wiesel called for China to open its doors to the
Dalai Lama and for an end to the conflict in Sudan's Darfur region. The
final session of this year's forum seemed to shrug off any pessimism about
what can be achieved in the coming months despite fears that the U.S. economic
downturn could lead to a global recession. "The mood was moderately
optimistic because we have many, many opportunities," said Klaus Schwab,
the forum's founder. "But if we do not address the challenges, one
day even the greatest opportunities will not be enough to guarantee our
continuation as humankind if you look at climate change, terrorism, poverty."
The five-day political and economic brainstorming session that brought nearly
2,500 of the world's movers and shakers to this Swiss ski resort was short
on "glitz" this year - with the exception of rock star Bono and
Oscar-winning actress Emma Thompson, who are both also anti-poverty campaigners.
Politically, there was much talk about whether President Bush's goal of
a peace treaty between Israel and the Palestinians by the end of the year
will be reached. "I would like to see an agreement that gives us the
prospect of a lasting peace between Israel and Palestine because I do think
that would be the greatest signal of reconciliation with which the 21st
century could start," said Blair, who is now the chief envoy for the
key international Mideast mediators known as the Quartet. Wiesel said he
also wanted to see Mideast peace this year, and "to alleviate the suffering
in Darfur which has become the capital of human suffering in the world today." "I'd
like China to open its doors to the Dalai Lama so I could accompany him
to go to Tibet. That would be a great, great victory," Wiesel said,
as the audience burst into applause. Blair said he'd also "like to
see us get the climate change deal or framework of it." PepsiCo Inc.
(PEP) chief Indra Nooyi said she'd also like to see "a climate policy"
and efforts to bring down rising food prices. more... Coincidence, or Message From God? Israel National News (January 20, 2008) - It seems like this is just too uncanny that these are all 'coincidences'. On January 8, 2008 the day that President Bush left the USA for Israel in order to lay the framework for the establishment of a Palestinian State and the division of Jerusalem for its capital , a freak 'January' tornado swept through a city in Bush's own country. The place hit was 'Jerusalem', Arkansas. Coincidence? One church was totally destroyed in the tornado’s path. The name of it was “Mt. Zion” Community Church. Coincidence? To see video, click HERE. Video will load and play automatically. One man was killed in the tornado. He was a ‘Pope’ County resident. His name, was Billy Carter. On Sunday of last week, I read out a report about this 'freak tornado' which hit Jerusalem, Arkansas. (Tovia Singer spoke about the tornado on his show after mine, on Wednesday) I was emailed by a few people last week to write on the tornado, but I didn’t have time to do it until now. So, let’s examine some interesting ‘coincidences’ here.
All this on the day Bush leaves for Israel to wage war on G-d by going
against the Bible and dividing the Land of Israel. The very next day, Thursday
January 9th, another calamity strikes America. As Israel experiences a very
heavy and unusual
heavy fog during Bush’s visit, central Florida gets hit with a freak
heavy fog. A mega 70 car accident takes place. The worst highway disaster
in Florida’s history. See video by clicking
HERE. (Video will play after one ad). What is interesting here is the
number 70. A neighbor of mine whom I often give a lift to, was waiting at
the gas station near where Bush’s entourage passed on its way to Ramallah.
The roads were closed down and he was stuck waiting and watching. He saw
Bush’s entourage pass by. He counted 70 cars. 70 cars driving with Bush
to Ramallah in heavy fog, and 70 cars in a horrible accident in Florida
under heavy fog. Coincidence? Let me remind you again what I wrote in a
blog on the significance of the number 70 that we keep seeing in the news
these last few weeks. The number 70 is the number of nations that met in
Paris, France, to raise billions of dollars to create a viable (enemy) Palestinian
State. 70 is the number that the letters Gog and Magog add up to. Gog and
Magog is the war of the Nations of the world who come against Jerusalem
and Israel. And the nations of the world, numbers 70 according to the Bible
as explained in the story of the Tower of Babel where G-d mixes up the people
with 70 languages, who then disperse to become 70 different nations. Is
all of this JUST a coincidence? I would recommend also reading Eye to Eye - Facing the Consequences of Dividing Israel by Bill Koenig. This isn't the first time the winds have battered America on the very days we meddled with the division of Israel. Jeremiah 30:20-24
Alert over jab for girls as two die following cervical cancer vaccination
Daily Mail (January
25, 2008) - A jab that could be given to hundreds of thousands of
schoolgirls this autumn was at the centre at a safety scare last night following
the deaths of two young women. European regulators are investigating the "sudden
and unexpected" deaths of the women who received Gardasil, one of two
jabs to protect against cervical cancer licensed for use in the UK. The
vaccine has been hailed as a breakthrough by the Department of Health, which
is backing an annual programme of vaccination for girls aged 11 to 13 years
starting in September. The jab is already available privately and a thirteen-year-old
girl from London became the first in the country to receive the cervical
cancer vaccine in 2006. Hollie Anderson's mother, Lisa, paid £450 for her
to have the jab after seeing her own mother battle against cancer. The European
Medicines Agency (EMEA) said one of the young women who received Gardasil
died in Germany while the other was in Austria. It has not released their
ages. It follows the deaths of three young women aged 12, 19 and 22 who
were reported to have died in the U.S. days after Gardasil was administered,
with 1,700 patients suffering "adverse reactions". There were
no previous recorded deaths in Europe. The EMEA said: "In both cases,
the cause of death could not be identified. "No causal relationship
has been established between the deaths of the young women and the administration
of Gardasil." A spokesman said 1.5 million people had been given the
vaccine in Europe. She said there were no plans to change advice on the
use of the vaccine. The UK vaccination programme will protect girls against
the sexually-transmitted human papillomavirus (HPV) that causes cervical
cancer. It should help cut up to 1,000 deaths a year from the disease. Gardasil,
made by Merck, is one of the jabs to be used initially. The other is Cervarix,
made by Glaxo-SmithKline. Dr Nicholas Kitchin, medical director at Sanofi
Pasteur MSD, which markets Gardasil, said: "The authorities in the
two countries have looked intensively at these two cases and have not established
a causal link, and this has been endorsed by the EMEA. "The fact that
the EMEA is not taking any action on the back of this should be seen as
reassuring that the product remains safe." 28 Women Miscarry After Receiving HPV Vaccine Gardasil; FDA Says No Reason to Re-Examine Approval Fox News (December 6, 2007) - The U.S. Food and Drug Administration said the cervical cancer vaccine Gardasil is safe despite that 28 U.S. women who received the vaccination had miscarriages, CNSnews.com reports. Clinical trials show the vaccine's miscarriage rate is consistent with that of women in the general population who were given placebos, and most of the miscarriages reported cannot directly be connected to Gardasil, the FDA said. There have been 3,461 adverse reactions, including eight deaths, reported since the vaccine was approved for use in girls as young as 9 in June 2006. The FDA and U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention have concluded most side effects are minor and believe there is no reason to re-examine the drug's approval.
Hope for Israelis, Palestinians Associated
Press (January 24, 2008) - Is it really
possible that Israel and the Palestinians will reach their elusive peace
treaty by the end of the year, as envisioned by President Bush? At the World
Economic Forum on Thursday, leaders from both sides joined Tony Blair —
now EU envoy to the Middle East — for a session that provided the familiar
recriminations, underscored the almost unfathomable complexities on the
ground, and ended with some hope and mutual appreciation. Israeli President
Shimon Peres began on a positive note. "I believe that both sides today
are convinced that war is not an option," he said. "We feel profound
desire to bring an end to this conflict that served nobody and harmed everybody."
And Foreign Minister Tzipi Livni said Israel sincerely wants to establish
a Palestinian state in the West Bank and Gaza. "We cannot afford a
failure," said Livni, who heads the Israeli team at talks launched
after the November Mideast peace conference in Annapolis, Md. But Palestinian
Prime Minister Salam Fayyad brought the proceedings down to earth — or the
tiny patch of it called Gaza. In recent days Israel cut off some fuel supplies
to the strip in response to persistent rocket attacks, and what followed
were widespread power outages and thousands of Gazans breaking through the
border with Egypt. "Sorry I have to give you a downbeat assessment
of what is going on," said Fayyad, a dapper and widely respected economist
who won plaudits for imposing fiscal order and accountability to a once
chaotic Palestinian Authority. "Things in my assessment did not proceed
as well as was hoped for after Annapolis." He criticized Israel for
continuing to tolerate Jewish settlement construction, and said it was essential
that Israel allow freer travel in the West Bank and reopen its border crossings
with Gaza. The crossings, a key conduit for goods and workers, have largely
been closed since the militant group Hamas seized control of the territory
last June. This was met with some openness by Israeli Defense Minister Ehud
Barak, a former military chief and Israel's prime minister from 1999-2001. "We
removed some of the roadblocks and we removed very few of the checkpoints,
but we can continue," Barak said. "We will look into it and consider
it. ... The moment the effectiveness of the security forces of the Palestinians
will be (similar) to the effect of the Jordanian security forces, we will
be ready to consider a far-reaching loosening of the situation." He
said Israel wanted "to make sure Palestinians will feel that the goodwill
of the rest of the world is transformed into real action on the ground."
Fayyad took Barak at his word. "What Ehud Barak said about the crossings
in Gaza gives us all reason for some hope," he said. "I hope the
consideration of this issue can be expedited." "There should be
no question that we do take seriously Israel's security concern," Fayyad
added. "We really mean it. We are trying to do the very best we can."
Barak reciprocated the positivity. "I can tell you working with Prime
Minister Fayyad gives us, and I believe the whole world, reason for hope,"
he said. "He is an assertive Palestinian patriot but one ... committed
to honesty. "I don't want to praise him too much in order not to damage
him," Barak added, drawing laughs. Blair asked what would happen if
rockets stopped raining on Israel from Gaza, as has been the case for years,
and especially since Israel pulled troops and settlers out of the strip
in 2005. Would it have "a transforming effect" on Israel's policy,
the former British prime minister asked. As Barak struggled to compose an
answer Livni interjected: "Yes." "I just think that sometimes
needs to be emphasized," said Blair, satisfied. more... "Watch" - Part 3 Watching & Waiting Blog (January 23, 2008) - Quoted information is from Wikipedia, cited and corroborated by many sources, unless otherwise noted. Items inside quotations enclosed in <> are my commentary: "July 14th, 1942 - " Javier Solana Madariaga is born the son of "a chemistry professor" and Obdulia de Madariaga. He is the great nephew of Spanish League of Nations disarmament chief, diplomat, writer and European integrationist Salvador de Madariaga and his wife the British Scholar and economic historian Constance Archibald de Madariaga. Additional quote from a previous Wikipedia entry: "In terms of personal habits, Solana is said to eat little and sleep less, surviving on a diet of organic fish and fruit. Recently, however, it is noted that he has made media statements that he enjoys Peking Duck, so obviously he departs from the fish and fruit regimen at times. Solana is a gun collector, and enjoys studying military battles. General Wesley Clark, a man who greatly admired and respected Solana, once asked Solana the secret of his diplomatic success. Solana answered, "Make no enemies, and never ask a question to which you do not know or like the answer." He has been described as a "squarer of circles". Solana is a Knight of the Order of St Michael and St George, a member of the Spanish section of the Club of Rome, and has received the Grand Cross of Isabel the Catholicin Spain . . . Solana has also received the Manfred Wörner Medall of the Defense Minister in Germany." >>Here's where it starts to get interesting. First, it's notable that he chaired the Barcelona Conference, the results of which have been incorporated into the European Neigborhood Policy (more on that later). Also, as the Secretary General of the Council of the European Union, not to mention the High Representative for the CFSP (Common Foreign and Security Policy), he has quite a bit of power. The kicker (or one of many) is that he's also the Secretary General of the WEU. The WEU was established on the basis of the Treaty of Brussels of 1948(read: the year Israel became a nation again). By the time Javier Solana became Secretary General of the WEU, it was composed of the following permanent members: "Member countries: (modified Brussels Treaty - 1954) All of them being members of both NATO and the European Union. These are the only nations that have full voting rights.>>By the time he became the Secretary General, this was a ten-nation military alliance. In Daniel 7:23 and 24, we read: Daniel 7:23,24 Of note is that it says "he shall subdue three kings". Shortly after the ENPI budget period (which runs from Jan 1st, 2007, to December 31st, 2013, which is seven years, more on that later) began, the prime ministers of the EU "big three" were changed. In Germany, Schroeder was replaced by Angela Merkel (who has previously worked with Javier Solana, and was instrumental in getting the EU's constitution {after being renamed to a "reform treaty} started in the ratification process), In France, Chirac was replaced by Nikolas Sarkozy, and in Britain, Blair was replaced by Gordon Brown. It was reported that those three nations had been stalling the EU's progress in certain areas, and I've got a blog post on all of that with news articles linked here. Next, check out the EU's Article 666, from the EU website: "General Report 1998 - Chapter V: Role of the Union in the world >>This was instrumental in creating Solana's position as Secretary General of the Council, and High Representative for the CFSP. Prior to his appointment, this office did not exist. The next document, found under the heading "RECOMMENDATION 666 - on the consequences of including certain functions of WEU in the European Union" at the WEU website, here, contains the following text:
>>The PSC is the "Political
and Security Committee or PSC, which monitors the international situation
in the areas covered by the CFSP and contributes by delivering opinions
to the Council of Ministers, either at its request or its own initiative,
and also monitors the implementation of agreed policies." more... Please also read part 1 and part 2 of this series. In Response to an Israeli Attack, Iran Can, With Syria's Help, Wipe Out Half of Israel MEMRI (January 23, 2008) - Following reports on Israel's January 17, 2008 test of the Jericho III missile, which has a range of 4,500 km, the Iranian website Tabnak, which is affiliated with Iranian Expediency Council secretary and former Islamic Revolutionary Guards Corps (IRGC) commander Mohsen Rezai, wrote that the missile's addition to Israel's arsenal does not change the balance of power between Israel and Iran. The website stated that in the event of a conflict with Israel, Iran would use its strategic alliance with Syria to fire missiles at Israel from Syrian territory.[1] It also hinted that, in addition to assistance from Syria, any attack by Israel would also bring retaliation by Hamas, Islamic Jihad, and Hizbullah. [2] Further, in an interview on Al-Jazeera TV, Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad dismissed the Israeli missile test, saying that "even before this missile test, the Zionist regime enjoyed this military technology, because of its support from several powers. But such measures will not improve its situation, and will not prevent its fall. The Zionist regime has lost the rationale on which its existence was based, and all nations identify it as criminal. Therefore, it will not achieve legitimacy for its existence through threats and sowing fear."[3] The following are the main points of the Tabnak article: [4]
"Therefore, it can be explicitly said that Israel's recent missile test, on January 17, changes Iran's missile defense balance [against Israel] not one whit, and does not impinge on a single one of its defense doctrines... For this reason, this missile test does not create a new situation or [new] result, in any arena of possible confrontation between Iran and Israel... "Thus [it appears that] the real idea behind this Israeli missile
test is psychological warfare [in order to affect] public opinion in Israel,
and not psychological warfare against Iran." EU blames US
spending for market turbulences EU Observer
(January 23, 2008) - The European Commission
has pointed to unhealthy public spending in the US as the main cause of
the current global market turbulences and urged Washington to cut expenditure
and boost savings, while praising Europe's own "solid and sound"
economy and the positive effect of the common currency. The topic dominated
a regular meeting of EU finance ministers in Brussels on Tuesday (22 January),
shortly after the biggest plunge of global stock markets since the terrorist
attacks of 11 September 2001. While evidently concerned about the possible
consequences for the region - mainly if there is a recession in the US,
where most of Europe's exports are heading - both the finance chiefs and
the commission were keen to avoid pessimistic statements. "This is
not about a global recession, but about the risk of a recession in the US,
as during the last years, big imbalances have been created in the US economy
- a big current account deficit, a big fiscal deficit, a lack of savings,"
said EU economy commissioner Joaquin Almunia. Mr Almunia suggested that
US policy-makers should tackle the current crisis with measures that would
secure "reducing the external deficit and the fiscal deficit, and increasing
domestic saving in the US both in the public and the private sectors."
He maintained that Europe's own previous reforms and pressure for cuts in
public finances have paid off, leaving the fundamentals of the bloc's economy
- in contrast to the situation across the Atlantic - as "solid and
sound". "So we are well prepared to weather this situation even
if we cannot ignore the risk of our growth rates being affected by this
turmoil," he added. A similar message was echoed by several ministers
and national capitals. "The last forecast shows that economic reforms
that have been implemented in the EU increase the resilience of the European
economy in trying to face such shocks," said Slovenia's finance minister
Andrej Bajuk on behalf of the bloc's presidency. German chancellor Angela
Merkel also urged for calm, describing Europe as an "anchor of stability
for the global economy." But Berlin is expected on Wednesday (23 January)
to announce a downward revision of the country's economic forecast in 2008
for the third time in less than a year, down to 1.7 percent from 2.5 percent
last year. A full and clear picture of the impact of the turbulences and
recent development in the global economy is expected to emerge following
the European Commission's quarterly preview, due to be unveiled in February. "Everybody
is concerned, but more than that, everybody is uncertain. We must wait to
see whether the US government interventions will prove to be effective or
not," Dutch finance minister Wouter Bos commented. more...
Global government, mankind's gravest need - Ahmadinejad
IRNA (January 22,
2008) - IRI President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad said here Monday evening
at the inauguration ceremony of new head of National Center for Globalization
Studies, "mankind's gravest need today is a global government."
Appreciating the services rendered by the former head of that center (formerly
called the International Center for Dialogue among Civilizations), Dr. Mohammad
Nahavandian, the President said that choosing Esfandiar Rahim-Masha'ie was "based
on precise calculations, and in accordance with a plan for the center."
The president added, "The Center for Globalization Studies must be
a very dynamic center, able to take long studies forward, thanks to the
presence of thinkers and intellectuals from various academic fields, able
to pursue globalization discussions throughout the world." Pointing
out that God has definitely been pursuing objectives in creation of man,
he stressed, "Almighty Allah has drawn the horizons of man's blessed
life in this world and how to achieve that objective, based on man's innate
desires and in the framework of his social relations with the others."
The President emphasized, "Man is created to be a global creature,
as all divine religions are global, and if he would be deprived of this
aspect of his personality, neither anything would remain of his humanity,
nor any of his potentials and talents would find a proper ground for manifestation."
Proposing that the rule of single law in the entire world is a bare necessity
for the mankind, he said, "The existence of a thousand laws in the
world, and then expecting that the global society would reach a status of
equilibrium, justice, and tranquility is wishing for the impossible."
He added, "It is not possible to observe global justice under such
conditions that each country is ruled based on a different set of laws."
Ahmadinejad said, "The entire monotheist Arch-Prophets (PBUT) were
leaders for the whole mankind, and accordingly, so long as a single law
would not be put to effect globally, and a single perfect, and noble human
being would not take the charge of a global government, the God given talents
of the people would not be materialized, and there would be no sign of divine
justice in the world." He considered mankind's progress throughout
history "a constant move towards perfection", reiterating, "Today,
globalization has become an issue for daily talk of even ordinary folks,
under such conditions that signs for accelerating move of the mankind towards
the peaks of perfection are countless, and ever increasing." The IRI
President stressed that pure Mohamedan Islam has answers to modern man's
entire questions, adding, "World nations would accept Islam in large
groups if pure Islam would one day be presented to them free from all non-Islamic
attachments." Ahmadinejad said, "The entire developments in
the world are pieces of a puzzle, being fit in their place in order to complete
God's general scheme for a perfect world for the mankind, but in the process
of this completion some people achieve perfection, while others fall in
the abbeys of annihilation, and nowhere is ever devoid of God's will and
Divine Rule, nor of his Caliph on earth." He said that the era for
drawing border lines between Islam, Christianity, and Judaism is now over,
reiterating, "Unadulterated Christianity and Judaism are the same as
they are entirely manifestations of the same Divine Truth." The
President stressed, "The single and solid plan and order that we should
present for the lives of the world people should be in a way to be acceptable
by the pure innate nature of the entire mankind, and such laws need to be
based on divine teachings." If the studies pointing to the 12th Mahdi as the false prophet are accurate, then it makes sense that someone like Ahmadinejad who views himself as preparing the way for the Mahdi's re-emergence to speak for global government because his Imam will be demanding the world worship the antichrist and enforcing his policies. One of Islam's goals is a world under Muslim rule. If they are directed to worship the antichrist and view him as their leader, then his global control will be viewed as that fulfillment. Remember also that the Magog invasion comes before the antichrist is revealed so there could be a shift in perspective once the radical attackers are wiped out in the mountains of Israel. In all religions though, we are going to see an alignment with the Alliance of Civilizations and the "we all worship the same God" lie. The proof is in the holy books of the various religions. Because many elements of Judaism and Christianity are combined into the Koran, there will be elements of similarity, but the messages are clearly polar opposite between Judaism/Christianity and Islam.
US warns EU on using climate change as pretext
Boston.com (January
22, 2008) - The United States warned the European Union yesterday
against using climate change as a pretext for protectionism, setting the
stage for trans-Atlantic tension over a new package of EU measures to combat
global warming. The pointed comments by the US trade representative, Susan
Schwab, after talks in Brussels, came just two days before the European
Commission introduced its proposals for cutting EU emissions at least 20
percent from 1990 levels by 2020. "We have been dismayed at a variety
of suggestions where we have seen the climate and the environment being
used as an excuse to close markets," Schwab said after discussions
with Peter Mandelson, her European counterpart. President Nicolas Sarkozy
of France has called for a carbon tax on imports to ensure that European
companies that need to comply with tough environmental rules are not undercut
by foreign competitors whose governments are not capping carbon emissions.
EU officials were not expected to propose such a measure tomorrow but were
expected to keep alive the possibility of a so-called border tax to keep
European industries competitive. The EU pledge to protect European industry
by 2011 at the latest will be aimed at assuaging powerful lobby groups from
sectors like steel and aluminum manufacturing, which say they are facing
higher costs than their overseas competitors because of the EU's determination
to lead the world in climate protection. Even so, EU officials hope to be
able to avoid the issue, not least because any European border tax could
be challenged at the World Trade Organization. Instead, EU officials hope
that other developed countries like the United States, which did not sign
the Kyoto climate treaty, will join an international treaty by the end of
the decade, making protectionist measures unnecessary. more...
A new peace vision Gulf Daily News
(January 21, 2008) - A senior Saudi royal
has offered Israel a vision of broad co-operation with the Arab world and
people-to-people contacts if it signs a peace treaty and withdraws from
all occupied Arab territories. In an interview, Prince Turki Al Faisal,
a former ambassador to the US and Britain and adviser to King Abdullah,
said Israel and the Arabs could co-operate in many areas including water,
agriculture, science and education. Asked what message he wanted to send
to the Israeli public, he said: "The Arab world, by the Arab peace
initiative, has crossed the Rubicon from hostility towards Israel to peace
with Israel and has extended the hand of peace to Israel, and we await the
Israelis picking up our hand and joining us in what inevitably will be beneficial
for Israel and for the Arab world." Prince Turki, who was previously
head of Saudi intelligence, said that if Israel accepted the Arab League
plan and signed a comprehensive peace, "one can imagine the integration
of Israel into the Arab geographical entity". "One can imagine
not just economic, political and diplomatic relations between Arabs and
Israelis but also issues of education, scientific research, combating mutual
threats to the inhabitants of this vast geographic area," he said.
His comments, on the sidelines of a conference on the Middle East and Europe
staged by Germany's Bertelsmann Foundation think-tank, were some of the
most far-reaching addressed to Israelis by a senior figure from Saudi Arabia. "Exchange
visits by people of both Israel and the rest of the Arab countries would
take place," Prince Turki said. "We will start thinking of Israelis
as Arab Jews rather than simply as Israelis," he said, noting that
many Arabs historically saw the Israeli state as a European entity imposed
on Arab land after the Second World War. Prince Turki, brother of Saudi
Foreign Minister Prince Saud Al Faisal, holds no official position now but
heads the King Faisal Centre for Research and Islamic Studies in Riyadh.
He said Israel could expect some benefits on the way to signing a treaty
and making a full withdrawal, noting that after the 1993 Oslo interim accords
with the Palestine Liberation Organisation, regional co-operation had begun
and the Jewish state had achieved representation in several Arab states.
They lied yesterday; they will lie tomorrow
UK Times Online (January 21, 2008)
- The Lisbon treaty is a dangerous betrayal. The process of ratification
of the Lisbon treaty will start this week in the House of Commons.
I'm against the treaty because it involves an important constitutional
transfer of powers from the European nations to the European institutions,
from national democracy to supra-national bureaucracy. I'm
in favour of a referendum, not only because it was promised by Labour, Tories
and Liberal Democrats at the last general election, but also because it
would be the best way to ratify - or reject - a big constitutional change.
The people should be consulted when their powers of self-government
are being given away. I was struck yesterday by an observation
of the Foreign Secretary, David Miliband. He said: “The reform treaty gives
Britain a bigger voice in Europe.” That seems to me to be the opposite of
the truth. The reform or Lisbon treaty gives Europe a much bigger voice
in Britain. It follows the original constitutional treaty in giving the
European institutions that are not democratically accountable important
additional powers, while failing to repatriate any powers to the individual
European nations. The original constitutional convention was supposed
to reduce the democratic deficit of Europe. The Lisbon treaty has done the
opposite, taking powers away from the nations and their electorate. The
treaty is a defeat for the idea of a liberal democratic Europe; it is surprising
that British Liberal Democrats are among its keenest supporters.
The Government's handling of the referendum issue has been shameful, because
that, too, has been anti-democratic. The advantage of a referendum
process is that it imposes a regard for public opinion on European politicians.
If they want to win the referendums, they have to negotiate a popular and
democratic constitution. In recent British history devolution has been successfully
negotiated for Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland. In each case the promise
of a referendum helped to shape the new constitution. In each case, the
new constitution was duly ratified by the referendum. In the case of the
European negotiations the original constitution, which led to the Lisbon
treaty, was hijacked by Brussels federalists - contrary to the wishes of
the people of Britain, France and the Netherlands. Having hijacked the negotiation,
the federalists then found that their idea of a supra-European constitution
was deeply unpopular. They could not face any more referendums in Europe
because they would lose them. In particular, they could not face a British
referendum. The British voters do not want to hand over more powers to the
European federalist bureaucracy; they want to get some of them back.
The negotiations for the Lisbon treaty were, therefore, designed
from the beginning to get round the need for referendums, except
in Ireland, where the Irish constitution requires one. Naturally, this underhand
process was designed to avoid the British having a referendum. The Labour
Government was a co-conspirator in avoiding the need to fulfil what had
become an awkward election pledge. The plot certainly involved Tony Blair,
whose last public decision was to agree to the new treaty. He was not
acting in order to fulfil his election commitment but in order to evade
it. After some initial show of reluctance Gordon Brown accepted this deceitful
subterfuge. The British people know they are being manipulated; they resent
it. more... Gee, it's almost like they're doing all this on PURPOSE! Nah, they're protecting freedom right? We need peace and security in this chaotic world, right? If enough chaos can be created, I mean happen, then who wouldn't be willing to give up freedoms in the name of peace and safety? It's already happening now in little baby-steps to prepare the world for the coming New World Order. Keep watching! Daniel 8:25 1 Thessalonians 5:2-4
Overseas Investors Buy Aggressively in U.S.
NY Times (January 20, 2008) - Last
May, a Saudi Arabian conglomerate bought a Massachusetts plastics maker.
In November, a French company established a new factory in Adrian, Mich.,
adding 189 automotive jobs to an area accustomed to layoffs. In December,
a British company bought a New Jersey maker of cough syrup. For much of
the world, the United States is now on sale at discount prices. With credit
tight, unemployment growing and worries mounting about a potential recession,
American business and government leaders are courting foreign money to keep
the economy growing. Foreign investors are buying aggressively, taking advantage
of American duress and a weak dollar to snap up what many see as bargains,
while making inroads to the world’s largest market. Last year, foreign investors
poured a record $414 billion into securing stakes in American companies,
factories and other properties through private deals and purchases of publicly
traded stock, according to
Thomson Financial, a research firm. That was up 90 percent from the
previous year and more than double the average for the last decade. It amounted
to more than one-fourth of all announced deals for the year, Thomson said.
During the first two weeks of this year, foreign businesses agreed to invest
another $22.6 billion for stakes in American companies — more than half
the value of all announced deals. If a recession now unfolds and the dollar
drops further, the pace could accelerate, economists say. The surge of foreign
money has injected fresh tension into a running debate about America’s place
in the global economy. It has supplied state governors with a new development
strategy — attracting foreign money. And it has reinvigorated sometimes
jingoistic worries about foreigners securing control of America’s fortunes,
a narrative last heard in the 1980s as Americans bought up Hondas and Rockefeller
Center landed in Japanese hands. With a growing share of investment coming
from so-called
sovereign wealth funds — vast pools of money controlled by governments
from China to the Middle East — lawmakers and regulators are calling for
greater scrutiny to ensure that foreign countries do not gain influence
over the financial system or military-related technology. On the presidential
campaign trail, the Democratic candidates have begun to focus on these foreign
funds, calling for international rules that would make them more transparent.
more... How long until America is not owned by Americans? The Federal Reserve (neither 'federal' nor 'reserve') owns our money and now we're so financially unstable and full of people who don't mind selling out a country for a buck or to save themselves leading us into an international debt beyond what we already have. Throw in an emergency or two (natural and man-made), and America won't have a choice but to join the New World Order's cashless banking system where a mark is required to buy or sell. “No one will enter the New World Order unless he or she will make a pledge to worship Lucifer. No one will enter the New Age unless he takes a Luciferian initiation.” | David Spangler Director of Planetary Initiative Revelation 13:15-17 The plan all along is to financially and legally integrate all nations in the name of peace and security so that at some unknown trigger point (to them - God's timing), an "emergency state" can be declared wherein the new legal framework snaps into place and military and civilian forces are legally under the control of one man. So far the selling out of America seems to have worked well to the end of America's reign as Europe takes her place. That's what the Bible has always said.
Animal-human embryo research is approved Reuters
(January 18, 2008) - Experiments to create
Britain’s first embryos that combine human and animal material will begin
within months after a government watchdog gave its approval yesterday to
two research teams to carry out the controversial work. Scientists at King’s
College London, and the University of Newcastle will inject human DNA into
empty eggs from cows to create embryos known as cytoplasmic hybrids, which
are 99.9 per cent human in genetic terms. The experiments are intended to
provide insights into diseases such as Parkinson’s and spinal muscular atrophy
by producing stem cells containing genetic defects that contribute to these
conditions. These will be used as cell models for investigating new approaches
to treatment, and to improve the understanding of how embryonic stem cells
develop. They will not be used in therapy, and it is illegal to implant
them into the womb. The decision, taken by the by the Human Fertilisation
and Embryology Authority (HFEA), to grant one-year licences to both teams
ends more than a year of uncertainty for the researchers, who first applied
for permission in the autumn of 2006. Last January the authority deferred
its decision and began a consultation on the issue, which reported in September
that the public was broadly supportive. In late November, it again delayed
ruling because of concerns about procedures for obtaining consent from the
donors of the human DNA to be used. While the HFEA was deliberating, the
Government proposed a ban on the creation of human-animal embryos, also
known as “cybrids”, but retreated after a revolt by scientists. The creation
of human-animal embryos will be explicitly permitted by the Human Fertilisation
and Embryology Bill currently passing through Parliament, subject to HFEA
licensing. An amendment that would have blocked such research was defeated
in the House of Lords on Monday by a majority of 172. Stephen Minger, who
leads the King’s team, said yesterday he was delighted that he would be
able to start the experiments. “I am pleased that the HFEA has finally after
a year and a half realised the importance that the work that we and the
group from Newcastle have been licensed for,” he said. more... See also: What Else Is "Behind the Veil in Washington DC?" (Part 2 of 5) Excerpt: In his book, GIANTS, Genesis 6, author and researcher Steve Quayle expands, "It has, for the most part, been kept from the public. Proof of giants' existence - their skeletal remains - has been quickly secreted away in obscure museums, when not destroyed. Additionally, time has cloaked and sugar-coated these creatures' true perverse nature, the majority too vile, too demonic for bedtime stories. However, history is replete with their tales of unimaginable cruelty, sexual perversity, cannibalism and pagan rituals." So, what is the "missing" history? Is it valid? How far along is this phenomenon and what really IS the agenda? Researchers Take Step Toward Synthetic Life NY Times (January 25, 2008) - Taking a significant step toward the creation of synthetic forms of life, researchers reported Thursday that they had manufactured the entire genome of a bacterium by stitching together its chemical components. Scientists had previously constructed the complete DNA of viruses, but this is the first time it has been done for bacteria, which are far more complex. The genome is more than 10 times as long as the longest piece of DNA ever synthesized. The feat is a watershed for the emerging field called synthetic biology, which involves the design of organisms to perform particular tasks, like making biofuels. Synthetic biologists envision being able to design an organism on a computer, press the “print” button to have the necessary DNA made and then put that DNA into a cell to produce a custom-made creature. more...
Israel flattens Hamas ministry in Gaza Strip
Reuters (January
18, 2008) - Israel bombed the Hamas-run Interior Ministry in Gaza
and closed border crossings with the strip on Friday, sharply escalating
what it called a campaign to halt Palestinian rocket attacks. The four-storey
ministry complex in Gaza City was empty at the time but one woman was killed
and at least 30 others nearby were wounded in the air strike, medical officials
said. "It felt like an earthquake," said Umm Fahmi, a woman who
lives across from the blast site. "My house did not only shake, it
jumped from its foundations and back down. How could they drop such a bomb
in a residential area on top of people's heads?" she said, peering
through the dust at the concrete and steel remains of the security complex.
It was the first Israeli bombing of a Palestinian government building since
Hamas Islamists seized control of the Gaza Strip in June after routing secular
Fatah forces loyal to President Mahmoud Abbas. A second Israeli air strike
minutes later damaged Hamas's so-called naval headquarters in the central
Gaza Strip. Israel has killed at least 33 Palestinians in Gaza this week
as part of what officials describe as a stepped-up campaign to pressure
Hamas to rein in militants who have fired more than 110 rockets into the
Jewish state in the last three days alone. An Israeli army spokeswoman confirmed
the air strikes, calling the targets "Hamas terrorist" positions. "This
is part of our response to Qassam (rocket) fire against Israel," the
spokeswoman said. The Interior Ministry oversees Hamas-controlled government
forces in Gaza, but not the group's armed wing. The armed wing has claimed
responsibility for most rocket salvoes since Tuesday, when Israel killed
18 Palestinians, mostly Hamas militants. more...
Colombia's Galeras volcano erupts Associated
Press (January 18, 2008) - A volcano
erupted violently in southwestern Colombia Thursday, spewing ash miles into
the sky and prompting the evacuation of several thousand people living nearby.
There were no immediate reports of injuries or serious property damage after
the 14,110-foot Galeras volcano began erupting about 8 p.m. and cascading
lava lit up the night sky. About 8,000 people live in areas near the volcano
where Pasto's mayor ordered an evacuation but "most of the city is
not in danger," Fernando Gil, director of Colombia's Seismological
Network, told The Associated Press by phone. "It's still erupting,"
Gil said more than two hours after its initial eruption. Gil estimated that
the ash cloud reached five miles into the air. He called it the most severe
eruption of Galeras since the volcano reactivated in 1989. "Depending
on the wind direction it's going to spread ashes over the entire area." "Most
of (Galeras') eruptions are violent and short," he noted. He said Thursday's
eruption had produced some lava flows that did not extend far from the volcano's
crater. A 1993 eruption of the volcano, near the border with Ecuador, killed
nine people, including five scientists who had descended into the crater
to sample gases. In November 2005, the volcano spewed ash that fell about
30 miles away.
New EU treaty worries US intel services Jane's
Public Safety News (January 17, 2008)
- As EU governments focus on securing ratification of the proposed Lisbon
Reform Treaty in 2008, United States policymakers are concerned its provisions
could present serious challenges to transatlantic intelligence and homeland
security co-operation. The main US reservation is that, by transferring
additional law and justice functions from the individual EU member states
to EU institutions, the treaty could disrupt existing bilateral relations
between US and EU governments without establishing anything better.
Since the September 2001 terrorist attacks on the US, its intelligence
and homeland security officials have prioritised the strengthening of collaboration
with European governments against the mutual threat of Islamist-inspired
terrorism. Despite periodic expressions of discontent, which naturally
attracted the most media attention, US intelligence community officials,
US law enforcement agencies and the Department of Homeland Security routinely
praise their European counterparts for using various bilateral mechanisms
to pursue joint initiatives encompassing non-proliferation, immigration
and other counterterrorism-related issues. In contrast, Washington-based
policy makers regularly criticise EU-wide bodies for proving at best ineffectual
- and at worst downright disruptive - in their efforts in the 'global war
on terrorism'. Common criticisms include an inability to determine an appropriate
point of contact for US officials in Brussels - a perception that many Europeans
are misguidedly seeking a negotiated solution to the 'war on terrorism'
and excessive preoccupation on the part of EU lawmakers with protecting
the privacy of EU nationals suspected of engaging in terrorist-related activities.
US intelligence and security officials have been able to circumvent EU institutions
in many cases so far by relying extensively on formal and informal arrangements
with the individual member governments. In addition, Washington has felt
confident that its European allies would use their powers to veto unwelcome
EU-wide proposals in areas related to security and defence.
If adopted, the Lisbon treaty could threaten many of these arrangements. The Panic Starts Jim Sinclair's MineSet (January 17, 2008) - There is no doubt the Fed and the PPT are meeting right now. A drop of over 300 points on the Dow after the Chairman of the Federal Reserve speaks publicly presages a 1000 point break in the Dow Jones Industrial Average coming quite quickly, if not tomorrow. U.S. abortions at lowest rate since 1974 Associated
Press (January 17, 2008) - The number
of abortions in the United States fell to 1.2 million in
2005, down 25 percent from the all-time high of 1.6 million in
1990 and dropping the abortion rate to its lowest level since 1974, according
to report issued Thursday. The Guttmacher Institute, which surveyed abortion
providers nationwide, said there likely were several reasons for the decline,
including more effective use of contraceptives, lower levels of unintended
pregnancy and greater difficulty obtaining abortions in some parts of the
country. The institute's president, Sharon Camp, noted that despite the
drop, more than one in five pregnancies ended in abortion in 2005. "Our
policymakers at the state and federal levels need to understand that behind
virtually every abortion is an unintended pregnancy, so we must redouble
our efforts towards prevention, through better access to contraception,"
Camp said. The Guttmacher Institute supports abortion rights, yet both sides
in the debate on the issue consider its abortion surveys the most comprehensive
in the United States because they encompass California, the most populous
state. California state agencies do not collect abortion data to contribute
to federal surveys. According to the Guttmacher data, the number of abortions
declined by 8 percent between 2000 and 2005, from 1.31 million to 1.21 million
— the lowest total since the 1.18 million abortions tallied in 1976. The
2005 abortion rate of 19.4 per 1,000 women aged 15 to 44 was the lowest
since 1974, when it was 19.3. Abortion rates were highest in Washington,
D.C., New York, New Jersey, Delaware, Florida, Maryland and California.
Rates were lowest in largely rural states: Wyoming, Kentucky, Mississippi,
South Dakota, Idaho and Utah. However, the report noted that the rates reflected
the state in which the abortion occurred, thus including nonresident women
who crossed state lines to get an abortion. By region, the Northeast had
the highest abortion rate, followed by the West, the South and the Midwest.
One pronounced trend in recent years is an increase in early medication
abortion — notably through use of the RU-486 abortion pill. These types
of procedures accounted for 13 percent of all abortions in 2005, more than
double the level in 2001. more... Foreclosures - The Untold Story Rense.com (January 17, 2008) - While we are being distracted with the theatrics of these long months of presidential canidates theatrics and hollow rehtoric, the grave issues in our nation (purposefully) are being ignored. The latest antics has Michigan (in ecomomic free fall) ignored by the party (Democratic) that once represented the working man. This because of rules (?) that punished Michigan for holding its primary too early. Now they are told they cannot send delegates to the National Convention. That's par for the course - why would the voice of the dispossessed be represented? Both parties have been complicit over these past decades in the meltdown we're witnessing. People need to climb down off their elephants and donkeys. They need to discard their red - white - and boo attire and enter into the neutral zone. As long as people can be kept in the arena of elephant dung and donkey drippings they'll remain ignorant to the facts that will vitally affect their lives and their children. REAL ESTATE: This problem began in the early 90s. This is when the Federal Reserve began lowering the costs of funds and banks encouraged people to borrow at low rates. Mortgage rates were lowered in 1991. This is when credit lines using home equity were created by your friendly banker. That was when people began going into debt up to their eyeballs using the inflationary increases in the value of their primary residence as a personal ATM machine! People forgot that the only true value in real property is the equity. Market estimates of home values can drop 50% in one day. Why would the Federal Reserve do something so harmful to the national economy? When a bank makes a loan of $100,000, ninety per cent of that amount ( or, $90,000) creates new money out of thin air. This is called 'fractional - reserve' banking. It is a system used in most nations worldwide. Most nations have central banks - the Federal Reserve is a central bank. It is not a federal agency as most people have been led to believe. It is a cartel of privately owned bankers and other affluents - much like OPEC is owned by people in oil producing nations. When Congress are over spending like mindless idiots, when the cost of war is approximately $245 million a day, one of the best ways to create money to pay these costs is to encourage American consumers to borrow. Every time you borrow - ninety percent of that amount creates new money from thin air. That money is injected into the economy. As long as we all borrow more and more and more money from banks more money is created. No wonder borrowing was made so easy - it gave them the cash they needed for all that spending. Every good thing comes to an end. Expect an economic upheaval when Washington's cash cow quits giving milk. "All of the perplexities, confusion, and distress in America arises, not from the defects of the Constitution or Confederation, not from want of honor or virtue, so much as from downright ignorance of the nature of coin, credit, and circulation." | John Adams, Founding Father "Mr. Chairman, we have in this country one of the most corrupt institutions the world has ever known. I refer to the Federal Reserve Board and the Federal Reserve Banks. The Federal Board, has cheated the Government of the United States and the people of the United States out of enough money to pay the national debt. This evil institution has impoverished and ruined the people of the U.S.; has bankrupted itself, and has practically bankrupted our government. It has done this through the defects of the law under which it operates, through the maladministration of that law by the Federal Reserve Board, and through the corrupt practices of the moneyed vultures who control it." | Louis T. McFadden, Congressman and head of Congressional Banking Committee for 11 years; before Congress June 10, 1932 The chief aim of the money men (assisted by both Republicans and Democrats)
for decades was to roll back FDR's New Deal. Anti-government rhetoric (
distracting labeling) has hidden this from public view. The 'Banking Act'
of the New Deal was a priority by vested interests in being repealed. The
undoing of this Act took decades and approximately $200 million in lobbying
funds to accomplish. "Billionaire Sanford Weill made 'Citigroup' into
the most powerful financial institutions since the House of Morgan a century
ago. A major trophy of Sanford's is the pen Bill Clinton used to sign the
REPEAL of FDR's Banking Act - a move which allowed Weill to create Citigroup. "
Sanford Weill called President Clinton to break the deadlock after Senator
Phil Gramm, chairman of the Banking Committee, warned Citigroup LOBBYIST
Roger Levy that Weill has to get the White House moving on the bill or he
would shut down the House-Senate Conference. A deal was announced at 2:45
a.m. Just days after the Clinton administration (including the Treasury
Department) agrees to support the REPEAL, Treasury Secretary Robert Rubin,
the former co-chairman of a major Wall Street investment bank, Goldman Sachs,
raises eyebrows by accepting a top job at Citigroup as Weill's chief lieutenant.
The previous year, Weill had called Rubin to give him advance notice of
the upcoming merger announcement. When Weill told Rubin he had some important
news, the secretary reportedly quipped, "You're buying the government."
Progressive Historian. With the stroke of a pen, Bill Clinton ended the
long saga of Republicans and Democrats, working in concert, for
their puppet masters (the bankers) with his signing of the 'Financial
Modernization Bill' (Nov 12, 1991). Clinton ended an era that stretched
back to William Jennings Bryan and Woodrow Wilson and reached fruition with
FDR and Harry Truman. As he signed his name, William Jefferson Clinton symbolically
signed the death warrant of a level playing field that had guided the Democratic
Party. Clinton (both parties) knew better than FDR and
our Supreme Court. Nov 12-1999, President Clinton stated, " Glass-
Stegal (FDR Banking Bill) is no longer appropriate for our economy. This
was good for the industrial age. The (1999) Financial Modernization Bill
is the key to rising paycheck and great security for ordinary Americans".
Tell this to Michigan - NH - California - Georgia etc. The public was
distracted from one of the most important pieces of legislation in this
nation's history being signed by Bill Clinton, with round the clock coverage,
of the Monica debacle. Seeing how Clinton came out of this shameful
episode lauded as heroic - super stud - and a multi-millionaire, why one
one would almost think that the whole sordid affair was contrived?
Most especially with Lieberman acting as the holier than thou apologist
! Missed was Clinton's reason for the undoing of FDR's landmark bill
Press
release. What does this repeal mean? The hedge fund industry and subprime
mortgage market is out of control. The New York Times in a June 2007 profile
of Goldman Sachs: "While Wall Street still mints money advising
companies on mergers and taking them public, real money - staggering money
- is made trading and investing capital through a global array of mind bending
products and strategies unimaginable a decade ago." Goldman
Sachs head Lloyd Blankfein paints the perfect picture of what has happened: "We've
come full circle, because this is exactly what the Rothschild's or J.P.
Morgan the banker were doing in their heyday. What caused an aberration
was the Glass-Steagall Act (FDRs - Banking Act)." Blankfein, like his
cohorts in corporate greed, sees the New Deal as an aberration and longs
for a return to the Gilded Age. In enters a reincarnation of our old carnival
snake oil salesman. Bill Clinton delivered his 'New Democrat Party' with
a lot of the usual scripted rhetoric. Meaningless made up words. The
combination of insurance, investment banking, and old-line commercial banks,
have multiplied the conflicts of interest within banks, despite so-called
'firewalls'. Much like Enron, placing some deals in off-balance sheet
entries did not insulate Citigroup from losses in its swollen subprime housing
lending. The bank (Citigroup) has so far written off something like $15
billion and there's more to come. Ah - but meantime we're going to see these
presidential canidates argue over who loves Blacks the most - or the miracle
of Hillary's tears ! It's interesting that in the Neveda debates (Nov 15),
when Hillary was asked about Citigroup and the subprime debacle she responded,
that that she was concerned over these huge pools of money, and that Congress
and the Federal Reserve need to ask questions. She went on to remark on
how mortgages (subprime and conventional) were being bundled and
sold to foreign investors. THE 64,000 QUESTION (yet to be
addressed in these debates) was not asked: 'Senator Clinton, its a known
fact, that Citigroup would not exist, except for President Clinton's repeal
of FDR's 'Banking Act'. Would you (other canidates) not agree with
the 1971 Supreme Court ruling, Goldman Sachs, and testimony by economists,
that we have re-enacted the same conflicts of interest that were in place
before the Great Depression and thus are doing the very same things that
the Rothschild's and J.P Morgan were guilty of?' This is the question
that has yet to be asked in any of these 'debates' (Republican or Democrat).
The media and canidates blame the victims or wander off into some esoteric
meaningless gibberish. more...
AT&T and Other I.S.P.’s May Be Getting Ready to Filter
NY Times (January
8, 2008) - For the last 15 years, Internet service providers have
acted - to use an old cliche - as wide-open information super-highways,
letting data flow uninterrupted and unimpeded between users and the Internet.
But I.S.P.’s may be about to embrace a new metaphor: traffic cop. At a small
panel discussion about digital piracy at NBC’s booth on the Consumer Electronics
Show floor, representatives from NBC, Microsoft, several digital filtering
companies and the telecom giant AT&T said discussed whether the time
was right to start filtering for copyrighted content at the network level.
Such filtering for pirated material already occurs on sites like YouTube
and Microsoft’s Soapbox, and on some university networks. Network-level
filtering means your Internet service provider – Comcast, AT&T, EarthLink,
or whoever you send that monthly check to – could soon start sniffing your
digital packets, looking for material that infringes on someone’s copyright.
“What we are already doing to address piracy hasn’t been working. There’s
no secret there,” said James Cicconi, senior vice president, external &
legal affairs for AT&T. Mr. Cicconi said that AT&T has been talking
to technology companies, and members of the M.P.A.A. and R.I.A.A., for the
last six months about carrying out digital fingerprinting techniques on
the network level. “We are very interested in a technology based solution
and we think a network-based solution is the optimal way to approach this,”
he said. “We recognize we are not there yet but there are a lot of promising
technologies. But we are having an open discussion with a number of content
companies, including NBC Universal, to try to explore various technologies
that are out there.” Internet civil rights organizations oppose network-level
filtering, arguing that it amounts to Big Brother monitoring of free speech,
and that such filtering could block the use of material that may fall under
fair-use legal provisions — uses like parody, which enrich our culture.
Rick Cotton, the general counsel of NBC Universal, who has led the company’s
fights against companies like YouTube for the last three years, clearly
doesn’t have much tolerance for that line of thinking. more... 'Second Thoughts about Fluoride,' Reports Scientific American Reuters (January 2, 2008) - "Some recent studies suggest that over-consumption of fluoride can raise the risks of disorders affecting teeth, bones, the brain and the thyroid gland," reports Scientific American editors (January 2008). "Scientific attitudes toward fluoridation may be starting to shift," writes author Dan Fagin. "Fluoride, the most consumed drug in the USA, is deliberately added to 2/3 of public water supplies theoretically to reduce tooth decay, but with no scientifically-valid evidence proving safety or effectiveness," says lawyer Paul Beeber, President, New York State Coalition Opposed to Fluoridation. Fagin, award-wining environmental reporter and Director of New York University's Science, Health and Environmental Reporting Program, writes, "There is no universally accepted optimal level for daily intake of fluoride." Some researchers even wonder whether the 1 mg/L added into drinking water is too much, reports Fagin. After 3 years of scrutinizing hundreds of studies, a National Research Council (NRC) committee "concluded that fluoride can subtly alter endocrine function, especially in the thyroid -- the gland that produces hormones regulating growth and metabolism," reports Fagin. Fagin quotes John Doull, professor emeritus of pharmacology and toxicology at the University of Kansas Medical Center, who chaired the NRC committee thusly, "The thyroid changes do worry me." Fluoride in foods, beverages, medicines and dental products can result in fluoride over-consumption, visible in young children as dental fluorosis -- white spotted, yellow, brown and/or pitted teeth. We can't normally see fluoride's effects to the rest of the body. Reports Fagin, "a series of epidemiological studies in China have associated high fluoride exposures with lower IQ." "(E)pidemiological studies and tests on lab animals suggest that high fluoride exposure increases the risk of bone fracture, especially in vulnerable populations such as the elderly and diabetics," writes Fagin. Fagin interviewed Steven Levy, director of the Iowa Fluoride Study which tracked about 700 Iowa children for sixteen years. Nine-year-old "Iowa children who lived in communities where the water was fluoridated were 50 percent more likely to have mild fluorosis... than [nine-year-old] children living in nonfluoridated areas of the state," writes Fagin. Levy will study fluoride's effects on their bones. Over 1200 professionals urge Congress to cease water fluoridation and conduct Congressional hearings because scientific evidence indicates fluoridation is ineffective and has serious health risks.
Major Outcomes of the Alliance of Civilizations Forum
Alliance of Civilizations
(December 15-16, 2007) - Announcement of a
Global Youth Employment Initiative, called Silatech, with
an investment of $100 million from H.H. Sheika Mozah bint Nasser-el-Missned
and partnerships with the World Bank and the corporate sector, notably
with CISCO, which will begin with 5 pilot country programs in the Middle
East. Announcement of a multi-million dollar AoC Media Fund that will
be a first-of-its-kind nonprofit large-scale media production company focused
on normalizing images of stereotyped communities and minorities in mass
media through partnerships with major Hollywood production, distribution,
and talent management companies. The Fund was launched with an initial
commitment of 10$ million, and an estimated target of $100 million. Announcement
of national and regional strategies for cross cultural dialogue by governments
and multilateral organizations to advance AoC objectives in their respective
countries and regions. Establishment of partnership agreements, with various
multilateral agencies and organizations, which contain specific terms that
will enable the AoC to leverage networks, contacts, and competitive advantages
of partners in the implementation of its programs. We have signed 5 agreements
- with UNESCO, ARABIC STATES LEAGUE, ISESCO, ALECSO and United Cities and
Local Governments (UCLG) - and a letter of intent with the Council of Europe.
Launch of the AoC Clearinghouse beginning with a theme of Media Literacy
Education, which will catalogue media literacy programs and related government
policies in different parts of the world; and announcements of partnerships
with several universities that will serve as nodes to enliven this clearinghouse
by initiating exchanges and posting materials on the latest development
in media literacy education. Launch of a Rapid Response Media Mechanism
beginning with an online resource that will feature a list of global experts
in cross-cultural issues, who are available to comment or to talk to journalists,
particularly in times of major cross-cultural crises. Establishment of a
Youth Solidarity Fund aimed at providing grants to support youth-led
programs in the areas of intercultural and interfaith dialogue.
Moreover, a decision was made to strengthen the network of youth participants
that attended the AoC Forum and broaden the network to include other youth.
Creation of a global network of philanthropic foundations and private funders,
which will share information; raise awareness of ongoing initiatives, identify
mutual needs; and explore ways to leverage existing resources for greatest
impact. Discussions at the policymaking level that highlight the importance
to move the Alliance forward in 2008 such as: developing joint multi-stakeholders
initiatives at the regional level aimed at promoting a better inter-cultural
understanding, and preventing the mounting of tensions and the rise of extremism;
contributing to the upgrade of the inter-cultural dialogue among the two
banks of the Mediterranean Sea; launching a number of activities within
the framework of active and city diplomacy. Establishment of an Alliance
network of good will ambassadors made up of prominent, high-profile,
internationally recognized figures drawn form the worlds of politics, culture,
sport, business and entertainment to help in promoting the work
of the Alliance, highlighting priority issues and drawing attention
to its activities. Commitment by the United Nations Global Compact to producing
a publication aimed at raising the visibility of best practices in the corporate
sector toward supporting cross-cultural relations. Signing of an
action-oriented statement of solidarity and joint commitment by diverse
religious leaders toward the goal of advancing shared security and peace
and providing youth with guidance to counter extremist influences. Notice all the focus on indoctrinating, I mean educating, the youth as well as the general population through Hollywood and the media. Hmm, funded by the world bank and the corporate sector too with partnership agreements in multilateral agencies and organizations. Included are action-oriented statements of solidarity and joint commitment by diverse religious leaders. The problem is that the AoC’s objective is to fight against those that claim sole ownership to the Truth in the name of peace and security. This automatically makes fundamental Islam, Judaism and Christianity enemy number 1. Now the fruits of these different religious ideologies can be seen in the actions of their believers as dictated by their respective holy books. Anyone unwilling to give up their fundamental beliefs will eventually be generalized as an enemy to peace and security as well as those trying to implement it. I think this will be the war on the saints prophesied. And with this media/education blitz, how do you think those who don’t want to participate will be looked upon? The world just wants peace, and those sticking to their beliefs, whether dangerous or not, stand in the way of a socialist dictatorship as described in Bible prophecy under the man of sin. “The conscious and intelligent manipulation of the organized habits and opinions of the masses is an important element in democratic society. Those who manipulate this unseen mechanism of society constitute an invisible government which is the true ruling power of our country. We are governed, our minds are molded, our tastes formed, our ideas suggested, largely by men we have never heard of. This is a logical result of the way in which our democratic society is organized. Vast numbers of human beings must cooperate in this manner if they are to live together as a smoothly functioning society.” | Edward L. Bernays (Sigmund Freud's nephew and author of Propaganda: How the Media Molds Your Mind 1928) “The meaning of peace is the absence of opposition to socialism.” | Karl Marx, Socialism (in Marxist theory) the stage following capitalism in the transition of a society to communism, characterized by the imperfect implementation of collectivist principles. LEAP/E2020 Alert: Breaking phase ahead for the global financial system in 2008 Europe 2020 (December 15, 2007) - The rapid aggravation of the global systemic crisis as its phase of impact unfolds [1] has brought our researchers to estimate that the contemporary global financial system will reach a breaking phase in the course of 2008. Crisis follow-up indicators now show that we should no longer only fear the failure of some large financial institution (and of many small ones) in the US first and the in the rest of the world (cf. GEAB N°19), but that the global financial system itself is structurally hit. The network of global central banks’ repeated incapacity to control the « credit crunch » when the two historical pillars of the contemporary global financial system (a US economy in recession and a US dollar in decay), reflects the growing surge of centrifugal forces within this very system. Indeed it is no more a matter of competence or of magnitude of the corrective actions implemented by central bankers. These times are over since summer 2007 and, according to LEAP/E2020, we are now witnessing an increasing divergence in economic interests among the different components of the global financial system. The expected failure of the Fed’s most recent attempt to coordinate a joint action of the main central banks in order to feed the banks in US dollars [2] , is particularly revealing. This action meant to restore confidence in the financial system by two means:
Of course the first goal is predominant, as reinstating of interbanking
market is the only means to bailout banks in distress in a sustainable manner.
However, it is already clear that the target has failed to be reached [4]
. The LIBOR (London Interbank Offered Rate), a key indicator of the health
of the interbank market, has not moved an inch from its highest levels ever
reached [5] . “Psychologically” speaking, the global stocks decline recorded
after the action of the central banks was announced, proves this if any
message went through, it is that the situation for large US banks is even
worse than announced in the past months [6]. According to LEAP/E2020 research
team, it is already a fact that after it lost control over interest rates
(cf. GEAB N°16), the US Federal Reserve has now lost two more of the
attributes that characterized the post-1945 global financial system: its
credibility as a proactive player capable of influencing heavy market trends
[8] , and its capacity to organize and drive global central banks altogether
along its own rhythm and goals. In doing so, it has just lost
the ability to steer by itself the entire global financial system,
an ability it has gained after 1945. Even though today, financial
markets are mostly receptive to the loss of the first attribute [9] ,
our researchers estimate that it is the loss of the second attribute (and
the impact on the system’s leadership) which will result in the global financial
system’s break sometime in the course of next year, probably by summer,
when the effects of the ongoing US recession will start being fully felt
and when Asians and Europeans will decisively be compelled to impose their
own priorities to the “Fed-pilot”. In this 20th issue of the GlobalEurope
Anticipation Bulletin (December 2007 issue), our team describes in detail
the characteristics of the growing divergences between the four main central
banks (US Federal Reserve, European Central Bank, Bank of England, Swiss
national Bank). According to LEAP/E2020, these crucial trends, coming at
a time when the entire magnitude of the US recession effects has not yet
been reached (in Asia and the US in particular), illustrate the rapid increase
of centrifugal forces which, according to our anticipations, will lead
the contemporary global financial system to a break point by summer 2008.
This break point will entail numerous disastrous effects for the
world’s largest financial institutions, in particular for all those who
do not yet fully understand the meaning of ongoing tendencies and therefore
who remain largely involved in the US dollar system currently imploding.
These institutions will experience, to a much larger degree, what those
who failed to anticipate the subprime crisis experienced, now being on the
verge of disaster [10] . Meanwhile, for depositors and investors, this breaking
phase will convey risks of considerable loss comparable to the two previous
breaking periods (1929 and the years that followed [11] , and 1973 and the
end of the 1970s). According to our researchers, the ongoing rupture
is even more disastrous than the two previous ones due to a disproportionate
importance of the financial sphere in contemporary economy. For
that matter, LEAP/E2020 comes back on this aspect and describes possible
protections further in this 20th issue of the Global Europe Anticipation
Bulletin. US banks quarterly change in domestic loans (in blue) versus domestic
deposits (in red) – Source FDIC - Comment: There is a historical disconnection
between loans and deposits since 2006, illustrating the dangerous spiral
US banks have entered. By summer 2008, it will be possible to
distinguish more clearly the lines along which the global financial system
will reorganise once the break point has been reached. According
to our team, it is a fact that the Europeans (the Eurozone essentially),
together with Japan and China, will have to compose with Russia and oil-exporting
countries in order to structure a new system. The evolution will
be painful for the US (and for all related operators) as, inevitably,
the new system will no longer be organised along their interest as it was
the case in the past sixty years. The next US Administration
(that will be in charge from January 2009 onward) will have a task high
on their agenda: to handle as well as possible this historic change, conveying
new economic and financial constraints, in a context of economic recession.
Europeans and Asians too will have to keep in mind this aspect if they want
to avoid the break from turning into chaos. This story I just came across at Fulfilled Prophecy pretty well lays out my belief from studying the events and timing of Bible prophecy that the current global financial system must collapse in order to make way for what the Bible prophesies to come where a mark of loyalty to the antichrist will be required to buy or sell. I personally believe technology will supply the means through tattoo RFID ink that will supply the security that is also desired and needed in this identity theft era. I believe the shadow rulers have been building this system behind the scenes to prepare for the collapse so that when it happens, the New World Order will be able to offer a way out for the collapsed system. I don't believe America will be in any position at that time of collapse to remain separate from the New World Order and the majority of the population will be ignorant to where the Bible says this is leading us. Revelation 13:16-18 Please read Herb Peters free book, Recommendation 666 regarding the emergency authority given to the Secretary-General of the WEU and the official document number 666 that gives him emergency powers over the WEU (military arm of the EU). Will Presidential Decision Directive #25 be Declassified? Daniel New (August 2007) - What happened? On October 10, 1995, the 1/15 Battalion of the 3rd infantry Division of the U.S. Army came to attention at 0900 in Schweinfurt, Germany. All but one of the 550 soldiers were wearing a sky-blue baseball-style cap with a United Nations insignia on the front. One was wearing the olive-drab flat cap that is authorized to be worn with the Battle Dress Uniform. With this simple act of disobeying a direct order, Spc. 4 Michael New set the stage for a legal battle that has profound implications for the future of American soldiers into service of the United Nations without the constitutional permission of Congress. On 24 July, attorneys for Michael New sent a letter to the Office of Information Programs and Services, a division of the State Department, requesting a "Mandatory Declassification Review" of Presidential Decision Directive #25. Most of our readers will recognize that as the document which President Slick Willie Clinton authorized himself to ignore the Constitution, ignore Congress, ignore long-standing statutory law, and to send US troops into military settings under the authority of the United Nations, without Congressional participation in any way. We only recently learned that this agency exists. We also learned that any citizen may request a review of any classified document, and if that document is over ten years old, a mandatory review of it is triggered by the request. PDD#25 is now 13 years old. What are the implications?
In short, this review could well be the point at which imperial presidents
are brought up short on a tether known as Constitutional Law. Regional Alliances
seem to be the "wave of the future" - but the way we have been
involved in them (since 1946) just happens to be contrary to the U.S. Constitution.
Not content with the pace of Globalism, Bill Clinton and Al Gore decided
to "reinvent government" - in what was nothing less than a coup
d'etat against the Constitution! You may have thought that the case of Michael
New vs. United States Army was over and done with. I know we did. But, you
asked to be kept informed of any developments in Michael's case, and this
one, while a simple request for information, may turn out to be huge. We'll
let you know. The coming book, to be entitled, Legions of Empire, by William
Norman Grigg and Daniel New, is coming along (slowly). Any person wanting
to get a copy of the first edition, hardback, autographed, needs to send
us $50 along with a request to reserve a copy in their name. That first
printing will consist of 500 hardback copies and 3,000 paperbacks. The first
100 will be numbered and autographed. If we get all 100 pre-subscribed,
it will mean we can pay for most of the raw printing costs of the entire
run. That's not everything, but it's a running start! It is incumbent upon
you to study, first that you may understand the nature of the threats coming
against our country, and second that you might educate your children and
the next generation, for the Struggle for Liberty is not an event - it's
a lifestyle.
