Episode 2: WATCH!

Synopsis

Ever since Christ ascended to heaven almost 2,000 years ago, Christians have been trying to understand the prophetic narrative of scripture. For many, the varied opinions of what it means and the number of times expectations have been dashed have turned many away from paying it any mind. Since 2005 I have felt led to be a watchman and in this I have misunderstood and misinterpreted prophecy and taken for granted certain teachings from more learned scholars than I. However, I found the more I relied on the Bible to interpret itself and looked through the lens of Israel and Jerusalem in God's plan of redemption for the elect, the more clear things have become.

So why should we watch and does it hold any value? This is the question at the beginning of a series of Bible studies I call HIStory, Our Future: Pearls for the Bride. The answer addresses what we are watching for and why. Is there any importance in understanding Bible prophecy and is it even possible to? I believe we can, and you don't have to be a scholar to understand it. You just have to trust and take the Bible seriously, ask the author of it to guide you through it, and consider the whole council of God with the promise that we have not been left in the dark as to what is coming and the season in which He will arrive. We may not know every detail, but we’ve been given enough information to understand more than most think and it has been sealed until the time of the end. As that time approaches, I believe you will see in these studies just how much the story of Yeshua has affected mankind’s past and future. God has given us understanding to comfort us and ease our anxiety about the future, replacing fear of the unknown with understanding that brings peace and eliminates fear. This is a gift that He has bestowed upon His bride, who faithfully watch for His return to gather her, carry out the justice of God, and woo again the faithful, unblinded Israel into His kingdom and into their inheritance.
