Mid-Tribulation Harpazo

According to the Bible’s definition of the great tribulation, a mid-tribulation harpazo occurs sometime during Satan’s persecution of God’s chosen people. This occurs in two stages:

  1. Revelation 12:13-16 (Israel in Judea: The “time of Jacob’s trouble” - This time period lasts from the abomination of desolation (Matthew 24:15-22) to the sixth seal. Revelation 6:12-16 It is a very short period of time, no more than 30 days.
  2. Revelation 12:17 (Then Israel’s remnant and Christians worldwide)

For more on that, see the great tribulation Bible study. This is actually fairly close to a pre-wrath harpazo, and for that reason, I will refer the details of this view to the pre-wrath page. Also because the mid-trib view doesn’t define it’s parameters any more clearly within that 1260 day period. I believe God’s Word has given us greater detail to understand the specifics. Amos 3:7

The belief is that the harpazo occurs during the great tribulation and like the pre-wrath position, this lines up with Luke 17:24-37 along with 2 Thessalonians 2:1-5 and Luke 21:34-36. Until the beast declares himself god in the temple, labeling any particular person as the antichrist of end-time prophecy is speculation. However, watching the news and looking for similar news can awaken us to the possibilities that are very near. There is only one who declares himself god in the rebuilt Jewish temple, and it is then that he will be revealed definitively. This is what Christ called the abomination of desolation.

Since my belief in harpazo timing is based on scripture stating we aren’t going to experience God’s wrath (1 Thessalonians 5:1-11), but escape it (Luke 21:29-36), I’m more in line with calling it pre-wrath, so a more detailed explanation can be found there.
